Cask handpull at the Hole In The Wall, Colchester. Chosen with some trepidation as I’m not a huge aniseed fan, but a taster convinced me. Black beer with minimal white head. Quite a thin body. The aniseed is evident but fairly mild so does not overpower and makes it very drinkable.

GBBF. Light semi dry palate, Juicy tangy marmalade hops. Light floral notes. A little lemon. Light dry finish. Nice beer!

Cask at GBBF, 2012. Gold pour with a white head. Citrus, pear and light malt aroma. Crisp citrus bite. Refreshing. Fruity finish.

Cask@Reading Beer Festival 2012. Copper colour, small white head. Aroma is salted liquorice, some wood and mild spicy and ashy notes. Flavour is salted liqwuorice, mild caramel and some slight wooden notes. Refreshing and quite nice.

Cask@Reading Beer Festival 2012. Deep amber colour with a small slightly off-white head. Aroma is fruity, yeasty, a bit earthy with some raisins and mild resiny notes. Flavour is floral, fruity, caramel malty with some slight spicyness.

Cask@Reading Beer Festival 2012. Goldeny orange colour, small head. Aroma is sweet fruits, mild resin, tropical fruit juice and some grassy and caramelly notes. Flavour is sweet fruityness with a quite big grassy and fruity bitterness kicking in. Balanced out with some sweet maltyness.
