Bottle from Buckfast Abbey. Amber-brown with a disappearing beige head and a middling fizz. Sweet, malty and fruity with stewed plums and coriander spice. There's a flavour I can't identify, but which I guess might be sweet gale if I had any idea what that tasted like. Malt loaf through the middle. Caramel and butterscotch then rather take over, but there's a hit of coriander spice in the mildly bitter finish. Overall it's interesting and quite enjoyable, but let down a tad by too much diacetyl.

4/3/2023. Keykeg at the 46th Loughborough Beer Festival. Pours close to black with a creamy beige head. Aroma of mild coffee, toffee, vanilla, light roasted malt, slight ashy edge. Medium sweetness, moderate roasted bitterness. Medium body, very smooth, soft carbonation. Enjoyable.

Cask at Moon Under Water, Wolverhampton. Pours a dark ruby with a medium sized foamy cream head and good lacing. There’s malts and a touch of smokiness in the aroma. A bit more spicyness in the vmuth with ginger and nuts. However, overall it is sweet but with a bitter undertone, and a chewy texture. After a while malts and autumn fruits come through leading to a slightly dry but sweet finish. This is a decent best bitter.

Pours a clear dark amber colour with a small frothy off-white head that settled. The aroma is malty, caramel with some light fruity and nutty hop notes. A moderately sweet malty taste, caramel, nutty and light fruit flavours with a bittersweet finish.

Panda 🐼 at home big thanks to Colin for this one. A clear orange coloured pour with a fine white head. Aroma is semi sweet, nutty biscuity malts, apple turnover, hedgerow row, Flavour is composed of semi sweet, nutty, apple custard, toffee, light grass. Palate is semi sweet, mellow carbonation, creamy. Ok. victoria sponge, light boozey madeira cake.

500ml bottle bought at Lifecraft, IoW. Shared with Finn and lmojoh. Firm, bubbly, fawn-coloured head leaving clingy lacing on the glass, jet black in the glass. Rounded roasted malts on the nose, hints of chocolate. Dark chocolate taste together with a bite of coffee, lightly spiced. Smoothly roasted finish. Likeable. (Tromsø 21.12.2022).

500ml bottle bought at a local store in Ryde, IoW. Shared at a session with lmojoh and Finn. Steady, bubbly white head, clear golden-brown body, clingy lacing. Herbal hops and grainy aroma. Mixed taste profile of herbs, grass, and grain. Mid-dry fruity ending, rounded mouth feel. Decent stuff. (Tromsø 15.12.2022).
