On cask up the White Lady.
Appearance - deep amber and clear. Soft, fluffy white head.
Nose - orange peel, toffee, honey and general cake notes.
Taste - more cake, burnt butter, prunes and toffee.
Palate - medium bodied, creamy middle with nicely balanced bitterness on the finish.
Overall - yep, great example of the style

Cask. Clear chestnut brown with small beige top. Malts and nuts hit the flavour charts here with caramel and some dusty British hops. Reasonable bitterness but there is nothing much exciting here. Fairly smooth but nothing that stands out for cask. Ok.

[February 2023] Chestnut brown with a frothy/creamy light tan head. Pretty solid fruity and malty beer with some earthy notes and a dry, very slightly bitter finish

5th October 2024 Adding as a gruit because despite several mentions in the blurb, this really is very far from subtle on the nose and taste buds, the dominant flavour is minty herby Eucalyptus. The old spice herb style appears to have been retired, so admins, re-classify this how you see fit, I am losing the will to live with RB styles. Brewed with Ventnor Botanical Gardens Boadicea hops. Great! Can't really taste em! It's clear gold with a small bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is light and minerally crisp. A trace of marmalade hop. Once again, this is, as far as I am concerned, a Eucalyptus brew, it is much the dominant flavour. 4.8% mouthwash!

Azacca, Challenger and Sovereign hops, the last of which were grown on the Ventnor botanical gardens. Near clear gold beer, decent pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and with good fine minerally carbonation. Slightly thin malts but with a reasonable amount of sweetness. The hop trio delivers a largely English hop vibe, a nice one though, minty pine, floral bitterness, woody citrus and more that is hard to pick apart, Azacca a bit lost. Finishes light and crisp. Nice bright English bitter with good English hop edge.

Clear deep amber beer, small tidy off white head. Palate is light and smooth, decent fine minerally carbonation. Smooth caramel malts, light cream. Light spice. Banana esters. Crisp pine. A little dried fruits. Light finish. Splendid effort. Tastes better than some Belgian dubbels! Bright and well flavoured. Went down a treat.

Bottle in Brighstone, IOW. Bright clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Light palate, a very mild dryness, decent fine minerally carbonation. Light smooth malts, a light honey sweetness. The use of new world hops is obvious. Light crisp pine into light but bright and reasonably juicy citrus, a trace of Kiwi hop lime, whisper of citrus peel. Even the lightest pinch of hop spice on the crispy finish. Super clean and bright.
