Description
Birbant (pronounced ‘beer-bunt’; Polish for ‘bon vivant’) contract brewery was established in 2013 by Jarek and Krzysiek (a.k.a. Kuli), two brewers and beer enthusiasts. Jarek is a professional brewer, who’s worked with several different breweries, while Kuli started brewing at home in 2003 and in the ten years before Birbant many of his home batches earned him awards at homebrew competitions. In their own words: “We have worked together on new recipes for a few years now. Our goal is to make flavorful and exceptionally aromatic beers we would like to drink ourselves.” Browar Zarzecze

Keg at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Pours deep brown with a creamy tan head. The aroma has dark fruits, sugary chocolate, soft roast. Medium sweet flavorbwith burnt toffee, dark fruits, dates, some stewed apples, plum, cocoa. Medium to full bodied with fine carboantion. Lightly warming to finish, lots more dark fruits, chocolate, plums, figs. Dry aftertaste. Very tasty stuff.

Keg at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Pours unclear gold with a creamy white head. Strange aroma, some overripe citrus fruits, a little poo. Light sweet flavor with a little lemony tang, salt, farmy poo, bitter hay, grain husk. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with more lemony tang, salt, wheat. Peculiar.

Keg at CBC Clerkenwell. Pours a hazy golden amber with a thin head. Smells smoky sausage with curry sauce on the side. Tastes same but with herbals on palate. It’s a decent and unusual beer.

Keg at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Pours clear, bright gold with a creamy cap. Big smoked malt aroma, some citrus peel, pepper. Medium sweet flavor with prominent smoked malt character, some dried ham, bitter leaves, grain. Medium bodiednwith average carbonation. Finishes with grainy bread, toasted sugars, smoked meat, ham. Quite tasty.

Keg at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Pours pours clear copper with a creamy, off-white head. The nose has some dough, lemongrass, kitchen cleaner. Medium sweet flavor with strong rindy bitterness, some bitter grass, wheat. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes floral and citric, with some lime zest, wheat bread, slight yeast. A novelty.
