Muddy with tiny off white head. Sweet fruity aroma with caramel and hoppy notes. Rather sweet flavor with caramel notes. Pretty thin for a barley wine….

12 fl oz bottle@fonefan/Brugmansia’s Cnudde tasting. Pours slight cloudy with a lacing white head. Mild mouldy and light malty aroma. Flavour has a mild bitter and slight malty note. Ends light and roasted malty with light barley classic flavours of wood and fruity malt flavours. Yet its quite thin bodied.

Bottle at BeerDig 2011 on 03/06/2011. Hazy dark amber body with a small tan head. Sweet fruit and caramel aroma. Sweet caramel and fruit flavor. Rare gem (5 now 6 ratings) courtesy of Gillard. Pours copper-brown with impressive firm tan head. The aroma has well blended burnt malts, malt sweetness, roasted malts and then a more subtle smokiness. The taste begins roasty, burnt and smoked malts that hit all at once. Then mild pine hops come around and grow into the finish. There’s also a bit more smoke, roasted malts and faint malt astringency heading into the after taste.

Translucent (nearly opaque) deep brown with a thin, layering and lacing, slightly off white head with little bits of sediment in the bottle. Smells big, heavy malt, heavy hops, sweet and spicy. Flavor is just as big, heavy malt, brown sugar, toffee, grain, biscuit, citrusy hops, grapefruit and pine. Finish is thick on the tongue and in the mouth with plenty of heat like a barleywine should. Nice, loved it.

22oz bottle-pours a foamy to rocky off white head that laces and hazy amber color. Aroma is perfumy/citrus-lemon hops, medium malt-caramel. Taste is perfumy/citrus-lemon hops, medium malt-caramel, alcohol. Medium body. Some BW characteristics. OK carbonation.

22oz bomber shared by JoeMcPhee at his gathering. I guess I am going against the grain here and believe me I have no love for this usually underwhelming brewery. It pours dark brown and clear. Aroma is strong with alcohol, sugary raisin, and a dry green herbal quality. Very cool, like an amped up Brussels black. Taste is very subtle, much less alcohol, light watery sweetness, and a lively fresh hop finish. It’s herbal, lightly sweet and has a soft mouthfeel. Definitely the best Rock Art beer I have ever come across. 8/3/7/3/16[BR][BR]Re-rate I can’t believe how crappy this beer was the second go around, again at Joe’s gathering. I was more sober but I can’t believe thats the reason. Just tasted like a mess, some weird spice and sweetness that’s followed bu a weak body.
