Pours dark amber with a thick frothy cream head. Aroma of heavy malt. Taste has more heavy malt notes, some off putting elements typical of the style. Palate was much of the same. Eh.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to tulip.
Appearance: very thick orange cardboard colored haziness with a finger's worth of white foamy head that dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: mango sweetness, orange juicy scent, piney whiffs, and some extra citrusy hop notes
Flavor: moderately bitter becoming bittersweet as it opens up, slight juiciness comes out too as it opens up, finishes juicy through the orange and mango qualities
Texture: medium bodied, leaning towards being a sipper, some smoothness but also some sticky piney hop effects on the tongue
Overall: pretty good DIPA I'd return to this but I believe it was a one-off for their 20th Anniversary so no worries.

Can to becher glass.
Appearance: dark brown color with a thin cap of a white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: bready, toast, light nuts, light dose of baker's chocolate, brown sugar and a touch of earthiness
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas together semi-sweetly, a touch of bitterness on the back end; aftertaste of dark bread and nutty character
Texture: light to medium bodied, some sessionability about it, fairly smooth along tongue, finishes nutty, dark bready and a touch of dryness
Overall: I'd say a nicely done bock I would come back to.

On tap at Vermont Tap House, Williston, VT.
Appearance: nice looking semi-dark amber color with a bar pour's kind of slim white head, dissipated and left no lace
Aroma: thick caramel/toffee malts, nice level of nutty crisp tones, subtle earthiness, and a big punch of bittersweet pine/resin hoppiness
Flavor: bittersweet meshing all the prior noted aromas then a mild aftertaste of pine and caramel malts
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable, good carb; finishes crisp with the pine
Overall: pretty nice red ale I could bang again.

Can to becher pint glass.
Appearance: dark brown color with a one finger eggshell white foamy head which slid off at a nice pace, some quickly dissipating lace
Aroma: roasty porter qualities balance with some coconut and a lighter touch of vanilla
Flavor: semi-sweet with the vanilla and coconut, some roasty to faint coffee tones; mild coconut/vanilla/coffee aftertaste
Texture: light to medium bodied, somewhat sessionable, some smoothness; finishes dry, roasty and some coconut
Overall: pretty good porter with coconut and vanilla, I believe I could come back to this.

Can to English pint glass.
Appearance: dark brown close to black color with a three finger khaki foamy head which slid off fairly quick, some light lace
Aroma: roasty stout qualities start and end up opening up a bit more with some peanut butter
Flavor: starts roasty and like the aroma the peanut butter sweet and salty tones allow the beer to balance pretty nicely; mild aftertaste of peanut butter and roastiness
Texture: light to medium bodied, between being sessionable and being a sipper, seemed a bit lower carbed than expected but not a huge flaw, finishes more like peanuts and roastiness
Overall: for the most part, this isn't a bad beer, but for actual "peanut butter cup" I would have liked some milk or dark chocolate in this, maybe again, and somehow I think Rock Art will eventually get this more balanced with the chocolate.

Can to becher pint glass.
Appearance: ruddy amber to almost brown color with a two and a half fingers of eggshell white foamy head which slid off delicately to leave some light messy lace.
Aroma: semi-sweet nuts, smooth roast, sweet bready character, light baker's chocolate
Flavor: nice Bock-like malty sweetness, mellow bready aftertaste
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable, smooth along my tongue, finishes semi-crisp and nutty
Overall: I'd say a good Bock lager worthy of having again.

Can to nonic pint glass.
Appearance: ruddy dark amber close to brown color with a two finger white foamy head with some bubbles in the foam. Dissipated nicely to leave some messy sliding lace.
Aroma: lots of nuts, roasted caramel/toffee malts, sweet earthiness and a touch of cocoa powder
Flavor: fairly sweet blending the prior mentioned aromas; semi-sweet to nutty aftertaste
Texture: light bodied - perhaps got a little closer to being medium but mostly stayed under, fairly sessionable, slightly smooth, finishes crisp and nutty
Overall: I say it works as an English brown ale, I could come back to this.

16oz can (spokes puppy Roger on the label). Light haze over a gold body. Fluffy white head. Nose has herbs and grasses, light malt, light citrus. Doesn't really read haze. Flavor is fine. Citrus and soap, honey and malt. Its a bit pithy and feels a touch dated. Some paper on the end.

16 oz. shared by Clarkvv. Aroma shows a lot of PNW hops. Pine, herb, and weak chocolate. This stouts tastes like it is the year 2009. The awesome Angels Envoy is lost in a ton of pine like hops.
