22 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy dark orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of caramel malts upfront, lots of sweetness, faded resinous hops, and oak. Flavour is along the same lines, with caramel sweetness, resinous hops and subtle oak from the barrel aging. Never a fan of barrel aging IPAs, and this is no exception. It's not offensive at all, but I just don't like this combination. Okay.

Bottle - Booze as soon as the cap comes off, going to let this sit for a minute before I dive in. Booze has died down a bit, plum and a bit of cherry notes. Deep clear brown with no head. Plum, light cherry and some nice dark malts. Thankfully the booze has not translated to the taste. Body is a bit light, but taste is nice.

Deep brown with a creamy, light tan head. Aroma is chocolate, light coffee, toasted biscuit, light caramel, Very inviting. Medium, oily bodied. Flavor comes across more roasted than the aroma lets on. Chocolate, toast, some light coffee, a bit of dark fruits. Has a slightly tangy, earthy finish. A very well thought out and executed porter. Would be happy to have this again and again. (#2500)

Bottle from the Craft Beer Advent Calendar; 7.3% ABV
Dark amber color, small head. Some malt and caramel, but both aroma and flavor show an ongoing infection, mild but evident, sourish; moderately sweet.
Disturbing.

12 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark chestnut brown / mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out notes of toasted chestnuts, toffee and bready malt. Flavour is completely messed up and infected, with disgusting vegetal and herbal notes. An undrinkable, chemically-infected mess. Gross.

Bottle - Sweet caramel with lots of cola notes. Clear dark brown with a decent beige head. Sticky sweet caramel, cola and a syrupy sweet finish. Too sweet for me with some odd sour bitter notes.

Tasting at Matt’s
Hazy amber color, small head. Good strong American Strong Ale, malty and hoppy, a lot of orange character, although the hop is not bright and fresh.
Solid.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Cloudy amber color. Nice citrusy aroma, orange and cedar, light toffee. Very good, lean malt profile, biscuity malts, a bit toasted, then followed by strong bitterness and a lot of hop resins, orange peel, a bit too bitter in the final.
Very good APA, or IPA at this strength.

2015.07.10, draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver, 7-5-7-4-15=38
Hazy light amber color. Strong aroma of citrusy hops, fresh (7.5). Nice malt profile, lean , only lightly sweet, a bit biscuity, similar to the Mosaic Pale Ale tasted side to side but lighter; nice piney and minty hop resins, orange peel, a hint of mango. Excellent.
2015-06-06, draught at Vancouver Craft Beer Week 2015, 7-4-8-5-16=40
Cloudy golden color. Plenty of citrusy hops in aroma and flavor, working over a good pale malt base, and finishing with a hint of citrusy resins and incense. Very lightly sweet.
Excellent.
