Panda courtesy of Theydon_Bois, cheers Colin! Burnt orangey amber colour, afew bubbles on top and aroma of almond, marzipan, cherry bakewell. Taste is sweet, cherry syrup, cough medicine like note, with honey, almond, cherry bakewell tart, vanilla. Oily mouthfeel, full bodied, low carbonation, warming boozy finish. Quite sippable.

Panda at home, thanks to the Wingmane, 22/10/24. Copper with a reddish glint and little in the way of a head. Nose is almond, glazed cherries, honey drizzle, sugars, boozy waft akin to amaretto. Taste comprises Cherry Bakewell, icing sugar, almonds, vanilla, honey glaze. Full bodied, oily feel, light drying close with a balanced warming boost. Decent enough Mead ... very much does what it says on the tin!

The mead have arrived at the cider tasting, via Shig. This was the obvious conclusion of round 1 & a preview into what was to come. Thick, amber-cherry, syrupy pour. Booze, floral honey, lots of strawberry syrup on the nose. Not syrupy feel actually, kinda thin. Semi-sweet but less than anticipated. Strawberry & vodka burn. Potent, fresh, booze delivery system.

Sample from danlo. Thanks, Ed! Pours purplish Black and opaque with no head. Blackberry aroma, some honey, grassy character. Strong, sweet and boozy with notes of plum and blackberry. Slightly bitter in the finish. A bit too intense for its own good but isn't that half the charm of these drinks?
