Medium white head. Hazy golden body with light carbonation. Resin and freshly cut wood aroma with tropical fruit notes. Dry-sweet resiny fruity taste with wooden strawy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, slightly astringent mouthfeel. Dry-sweetish mango and resin aftertaste with wooden spicy lacquer and oranges notes. Nice, full of character, and highly drinkable. Hazy amber beer, short lived pale cream head. Crispish palate. Deep rich Columbus hops, lovely! Bitter dark orange marmalade turning a little fresher. Some grassy tones. Crispish finish that also presents some creamy malt. Lingering bitter aftertaste. Very satisfying IPA that put a big smile on my face. My only problem with Kernel IPAs is trying not to bolt them!

Hazy amber beer, short lived white head. Semi crisp palate and semi dry. A little creamy malt. Medium levels of hop bitterness with a near seamless bland of juicy orange and grapefruit. Whisper of herbal bitterness. Semi dry finish with a bitter aftertaste. Nice as always from Kernel!

Bottle. Surprisingly darkish amber beer. Crisp palate, semi dry. A trace of creamy malt underneath. Light juicy orange followed by a little grassyness. Mild minerals and mild marmalade bitterness in the aftertaste but the bitterness has legs. Nicely joined up pale ale - clean and refreshing. Hoppy without being too aggressive.

Hazy gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is light and has a fine minerally crispness. Light malts, smooth and mildly sweet. Light crispy hops - generic citrus and generic fruits. Mild pith on the finish. Light and very drinkable. 3.7

Smooth light malts, light creamy sweetness. Smooth pine. Lovely light tropical fruits. Modest citrus. Modest spice. Smooth finish. Really nicely integrated and drinkable. Best of three editions I've tried.

Bottle from Sourced Market St Pancras my 2nd favourite place to get Kernel beers after the brewery as it does not seem to matter where I am going or what I am doing there is another Kernel beer ready for me at this shop. They even provide a plastic cup for the beer too. Drunk as first beer of Mes’ Stag weekend on a train from London Bridge to Gatwick Airport. Very hazy orange gold colour with lasting beige head. Orange tangerine hop assaults the olfactory senses as the Mount Hood aroma explodes out of the glass. Like the first time I ever had Oakham JHB. Some earthyness on aroma and in mouth. Could do with decanting to get rid of some of the fizz but I dont have a second glass sat on the train. 9.30 in the morning is the earliest I have had a drink in a long time. Good hops throughout and I love the tangerine aroma and flavour. So juicy with a touch of muddy earthyness too. Funnily enough it is another mood changing beer from Kernel. I had just finished an argument with my boss by text and this beer cheered me up no end. Another good solid beer from this great brewery.

Medium brown head. Opaque black body. Roasty chocolate and coffee aroma with cocoa and alcohol notes. Dry-sweet earthy alcoholic chocolate taste with peas and mint notes. Full-bodied. Mild, yet hot, mouthfeel. Dryish buttery roasty alcoholic aftertaste with earthy coffee and vanilla notes. Nice, harmonic, and fairly drinkable. Also unusual and interesting. Medium white head. Hazy amber body with carbonation. Strong earthy peas and dry straw aroma with alcoholic licorice and toffee notes. Strong dry-sweet earthy toffee and peas taste with smoky resiny notes. Full-bodied. Sharpish, hot mouthfeel. Dryish earthy alcoholic tropical fruit aftertaste with buttery spicy notes. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, orange - citrus, grapefruit. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, peel - grapefruit bitter, dry. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110426]

Bottled. Very black, small beige head. Aroma of pear and winegum as well as licorice. Dense and sweet with packed full body. Heavy on salmiak, notes of pears and licorice. Heacily salty bitterness.
