Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, sweet malt, roasted, wood, dark malt, licorice notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130327]

33 cL bottle. Pours hazy dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malty and breadish. Smoked, caramelish and breadish. Bitter and lingering smoked into a nice smooth finish.

Bottle from The Ale House, Chelmsford. Dark brown, with a tan head. Medium bodied, with a light roasting and dried fruit aroma. Quite highly carbonated.

Bottled. A dark red beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of bread and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, smoke, and caramel, leading to a to balcoholic finish.

(Bottle, Duke’s Brew & Cue, Haggerston, London, 25 Apr 2013) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, chocolate, liquorice, resin and pine needles. Malty, roasted taste with liquorice, black coffee, dark chocolate and generous amounts of resinous, piney hops. More than medium body, quite dry. Impressive black IPA with lots of coffee, chocolate and hops. Excellent beer.

(Bottle, Duke’s Brew & Cue, Haggerston, London, 25 Apr 2013) Golden colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with citrus, resin, grass and grainy malt. Malty, fruity taste with notes of citrus, grapefruit, apricots and a generous grassy/citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Nice one.

33cl bottle from Sourced Market, St Pancras. Black beer with thin tan head. Saisony yeast aroma with some chocolate. Yep a decent saison. God I like a saison. Good fullness and not overly roasty. Decent light choc flavours. Good hoppy finish. Moreish beer if you like a saison, which I do.

Bottled (from Ales By Mail). Orangeish golden colour with a mediumsized head, which turns into a small thick creamy one and leaves good lace. Aroma is fruity, mild catpissy notes as well as some sweet malts and mild toffee. Flavour is fruity, citrusy, floral and some sweet malts. Very pleasant, with a nice sweetish bitterness in the finish.

Bottle 330ml. @ home.[ Trade by madmitch76 ]. Unclear dark dark blak brown colour with a large to huge, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, moderate to heavy hoppy, grass, pine, grapefruit, dusty hops - hop cones. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, soapy, citrus bitter, hoppy bitter, dark malt, dry grass. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130325]
