Description
Flying Dog Brewery is a craft brewery located in Frederick, Maryland. It was founded in 1990 as a brewpub in Aspen, Colarado by George Stranahan and Richard McIntyre. Demand for Flying Dog beers quickly grew beyond the brewpub's capacity. In 1994, the company opened a 30-barrel brewery (Broadway Brewing Company) in Denver. Looking to expand again in 2006, Flying Dog purchased Frederick Brewing Company in Frederick, Maryland and began producing beer in both Maryland and Colorado. In December 2007, Flying Dog announced that it was closing the Denver brewery and would solely produce beer in its Frederick facility.

Pour is a clear yellow with a white head. Aroma is of very slight hops. Flavor is way to watery and thin to even write about. This needs lots of everything.

Pour is a very dark red with little or no head. Aroma is malty. Flavor is like a malt kick in the pants. Lots of malts used in this one but it makes it also a one trick pony. Really a good malt brew but i also think it could use some more complexity.

Pour is orange with a white head. Aroma of hops hit you first thing. Flavor is slightly hoppy but more of a malt backbone. This is a beer that smells better than it tastes. Not really bad but a tad to thin.

Pour is a deep dark with no real head. Aroma is carmel and smoke but very light. Flavor has lots of carmel malts and a nice chocolate touch. The downside is that it is kind of weak in both aroma and flavor, nothing really stands out. Average at best.

Pour is a cloudy yellow with a nice white head. Aroma is great. Lots yeast with some banana in there. Flavor at first is lemon but not overpowering. Then i get some clove in there as well. A bit thin but it is decent. I agree with the rater below that this is very underrated.

A hazy orange beer with an off-white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of honey. The flavor is sweet with hops being most dominant, aroma as well as bitter hops, the latter giving it a bitter, grassy, dry end. OK.

Bottled. Copper colour, creamy head. Rich grapefruity nose. Sweet with soft but syrupy, mouthfeel. Very hoppy and fruity, like lychee juice, some menthe. Brutally bitter finish. Too sweet to be balanced.
