Tap at Ranzani 13, Bologna, Italy. Pours dark brown, with nice reflections, and with fine cream foam. Aroma is toasted, a little nutty. Body and carbonation are average. Taste is moderately sweet, with some nice roasty notes. Final is average.

Hand pumped at Ranzani 13, Bologna, Italy. Pours black, with almost no carbonation. Aroma is coffee and nutty, some dark chocolate. Body is average, with practically no carbonation. Taste is intensely roasty bitter, with just a hint of vanilla sweetness in the background. Final is still intensely toasty.

On tap at il Punto. A very drinkable doppelbock, some light chocolate notes, unfortunately I don't get too much pear from this. Nevertheless a very drinkable beer.

Smell of sweet malt, hops, faint tangerine. Amber colour, off-white head. Aroma of earth, hops, finish is malty. Flat carbon. Medium bitter, lightly sweet. Quite pleasant.

Smell of hops, faint sweet fruit. Cognac colour, off-white head. Aroma of bitter hops, harshly so. Also spruce. Lacking maltiness. Very bitter. Soft carbon. More of a heavily-hopped IPA.
