US pint at Philadelphia airport on 8th March 2025. Waiting for a connection to Miami. Clean and clear amber body, off-white head. Malt driven with a pleasant crispness and carbonation. I liked it and it’s a beer I’ve wanted for ages because I was given an old Yuengling stemmed glass many years ago and still have it in my collection.

Clear golden pour with a big white head. Aroma is very grassy, and herbal. Notes of mint, wet hay and even some light basil. Good mouth feel, regular carb. Finish is grassy again, medium bitterness, and more herbs in the finish, with some solid citrus. Quite nice actually.

From tap at Pere Antoine, New Orleans. Sweet and bready with brown-ish malt, caramel, dark bread, barley and wheat. Mild bitter flavour. Body is mild to medium. Actually not a bad Dark Lager, much better than most macro Lagers.

Notes from 11/18/2008. It's recession time folks. I'm already past can returns, quickly sailing past deluxe mac n cheese dinners down to the instant powder stuff. I've been wearing sweat pants a lot lately, & since borrowing that extension cord from my neighbor, I've been able to keep the beer fridge running. ;) Costco variety pack edition. Traded the Lights & Chesterfields for currently unredeemable brownie points. Green is my favorite color. Pours out a lumpy egg white head, but rings the glass & sticks around longer then the canned variety. Smell has a sprinkle of citrus(kind of like Schweppes Ginger Ale), very husky & hayish, bit of sulfur, sparsely metallic, with less noxious Euro trash notes then what was in the can. Still toasty, but malt comes through much more noticeably then in the stumpy. Still mineral-ly, with a bland bread-ish sweetness. Almost a minty hop buzz, drizzle of alcohol still hurting the finish, but not really dry anymore. You can make out corn more so in this serving. Carbonation is softer then in the aluminum. Creamier then A, but not as forceful. $4-5 a case more then the cans, that's a box of Apple Jacks right there!

Draft @ McCarthys Pub, NYC. Clear amber with a small white head. Aroma of caramel and traces of lemons. Taste of caramel, lemons and malt lozenges. Low bitterness. Medium carbonation. Drinkable for sure but I didn’t fancy a second one and went for a Sam Adams instead.
