Description
The brewery was founded in 2005 by four home brewers who wanted to make high quality beers. In 2016 two of the original founders retired, and the brewery is today owned by a constellation of the two remaining founders, some employees at the brewery and three other Norwegian craft breweries.
Haandbryggeriet currently has 10 employees all participating in developing new ground breaking beers and recipes.
The brewery has a wide selection ranging from classic and traditional beers to new and innovative brews and hybrid beer styles. Sometimes brewed with local and Nordic ingredients such as cherries, sea buckthorn, raspberries, and lingonberries. Haandbryggeriet has since 2005 also made high quality sours and barrel aged beers such as porters and Christmas beers.

Boyttle. Thanks too Yngwie. Frothy lightbrown excellent fully deminishing head. Clody ugly brown colour. Moderate malty almost no yeasty aroma. Nice powerfull bitter flavor. Oily palate but way too fizzy. This beer was not crafsmanship.

500ml bottle. Dark brown body with thick creamy beige head. Aroma of dry fruits, roasted malt and spices. Flavor is warming, sweet (malt, molasses) candy sugar and a hint of licorices. A bit over carbonated – fizzy palate. Aftertaste is relatively bitter and slightly roasted. Despite of many difference flavors this beer turns out a bit one dimensional. Don’t get me wrong, this is a great beer, but one bottle may be just to much for me at one time.

Hazy dark copper with a big (yeah, my bottle is overcarbonated too) off-white head. You can pick up some caramel malt, but it’s dominated by burned plastic sulphur aroma. Dry roast malt flavour with a bitter finish.

(Bottle 50 cl) Slightly hazy orangey brown with a beige head. Lightly burned aroma. Medium body with notes of burned plastic and burned malt. A rather bitter finish, but the burned plastic tang reappears. Overly carbonated. 091206

Dark brown color; huge thick head. Some aroma of malt and roasted malt. Good body strength; the flavor is based on caramel and roasted malt; round enough; strong final, with a lot of caramel and roasted malt. Too much alcohol and too much bitterness from the roasted malt.

Bottle 0,5l. Batch 46. Dark red/brown coloured - almost black. A large brownish head clinging to the bottle. Unclear. Peppery aroma. The high carbonation kills most of the flavour, but some malt, spice and roastedness shines through. Dry bitter finish. KI=5

500ml bottle (batch 44, bb. Sept.08). Dense, brownish head over a mahogany coloured body. Pleasant aroma of roasted malt. Marked taste of aniseed with hints of dark fruits and burnt malt. Rounded bitter finish. Fits the season well, but the anise is bit too dominant (25.11.2006).
