Description
The brewery was founded in 2005 by four home brewers who wanted to make high quality beers. In 2016 two of the original founders retired, and the brewery is today owned by a constellation of the two remaining founders, some employees at the brewery and three other Norwegian craft breweries.
Haandbryggeriet currently has 10 employees all participating in developing new ground breaking beers and recipes.
The brewery has a wide selection ranging from classic and traditional beers to new and innovative brews and hybrid beer styles. Sometimes brewed with local and Nordic ingredients such as cherries, sea buckthorn, raspberries, and lingonberries. Haandbryggeriet has since 2005 also made high quality sours and barrel aged beers such as porters and Christmas beers.

330 ml can, from the brewery. ABV is 12%. Black colour, small and shortlived tan head. Aroma of roast malts, honey, oak and aquavit, hints of chocolate. The flavour is not as sweet as I feared, but has the same elements, well balanced. Low bitterness. Warming throatfeel.

330 ml can, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 0.5%. Slightly hazy and very pale golden colour, small and shortlived white head. Lovely aroma of citrus and tropical fruits. Thin mouthfeel as expected. Crisp and refreshing flavour, citrus notes dominate. Not bad at all.

Can @ Home. Unclear, very pale golden body under a white head. Decent, refreshing aroma of citric fruits. Taste is very weak malt with moderate citric fruits and low bitterness. Nice aroma, weak in taste, thin in body. Quite clean and refreshing but frankly not much going on here, even for a non alcoholic.

Small but persistent white head over fully hazy yellow-ochre beer. Asafoetida, resin, hopoil, faintly bready, hint at other grains, and obviously (even in the nose) oats. Citrussy, resins, citruspeel, oats, hopoils and other vegetable/fruit oils (citruspeel...) Quite slick, oily, medium to well-carbonated. Medium bodied. Quite OK, maybe bit typical Scandinavisan IPA. Txs to Joren!
