The Aromas are very nice clean, natural, balanced roast, cocoa, dark malt, toffee and a hint of minerals. Flavors are like nose, minerals come out more, mildly sweet tapering into slightly bitter. Nice beer.

Dull IPA, not bad but fairly plain, with a modest grapefruit-lemon hop front and a deep piney vein to close things out. Light bready malts provide a bare minimum of a grainy base, and a mild herbal fade adds a little complexity to an otherwise nondescript back end. Eh.

12oz can. Poured a very dark brown color, almost black, with a small off-white head. Aroma was lots of nice coffee, roasted malts. Light dark chocolate character comes through. Rich, creamy, with a slight milk chocolate character to it. Coffee is really nice, not too bitter, but providing a nice rich, robust character.

Tap at Weinhaus, Asheville. A bit toffeish malty aroma. Light-bodied to medium-bodied. Pale malty, spicey hops, some honey. More malty than hoppy. A bit unclean tap.

2 week old can > tulip A: Poured a mostly tawny copper gold with 1/2" of head that held very well. S: Muted scent of leafy hops and caramel. Maybe a hint of corn. T: Leaves again, herbs, orange zest brown bread. Malty like an amber ale. M: Average carbonation level, light body and wet finish. O: Not bad at all but not really representative of today's APA.

Sample at Hoof Hearted during the "Konkey Dong - Can Release Party" on 05/07/2017. Cloudy golden color with a medium white head that recedes steadily to a film. Stringy lacing. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, grapefruit and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a citrusy hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

Aroma was decent although vanilla dominated there was some roast and a little Cocoa. Flavor wasn’t nearly as good kind of a mismash that didn’t blend well together some molasses little bit of licorice couldn’t pick up on the oatmeal texture, roasty, a lot of vanilla and a bit of cocoa some high points body was not that great
