Straightforward tripel, fruity and sweet, with dried apple, vanilla, wheat, and clove set against a boozy back end. Could use more carbonation.

Can from Appalachian Vinter. Pint glass @home. Haven't had a Pisgah beer since they moved. Super thin, but cascading tan head. Smell is muted cacao & vanilla, but getting deeper as it warms. I don't get the peppers, yet. Soft coffee as it warms. Still no peppers. Taste is lush chocolate bar & a spike of cinnamon with a solid earthy/spicy combo from the peppers. Some faintly lingering green chili. Not too hot, but prickly & with more than one note. The chocolate comes back for a bitter slick finish with some trailing heat. Sturdy & filling because of the chocolate. Still a hair thin. Booze is warming but not totally apparent. Beer is good cold or room temp. Great to excellent.
