Description
Open the door of the 56 rue Gheude.
Cantillon ? That’s the time machine. You’ll leave the modern civilization, goodbye to the noise, goodbye to the world.

"But where are we ?", you will ask yourself.
Well, you are in a family brewery where Lambic, Gueuze, Faro and Kriek are made and where nothing has changed since 1900 when it was founded. The Van Roy-Cantillon family welcomes you and invites you to discover a fabulous world. Beers, tools and brewing process are still the same as in the beginning.

Red copper containers, barrels, some of them more than 100 years old, and walls of bottles constitute the scenery for your visit.

Maybe you’ll be lucky to see the brewing or the bottling, maybe you ’ll see how barrels are cleaned or how fruit beers are made in summer. Maybe you’ll be lucky to see the brewing or the bottling, maybe you ’ll see how barrels are cleaned or how fruit beers are made in summer.
Anyway, you’ll be able to taste a real traditional Gueuze-Lambic and if you would like to know more about the Kriek or the Framboise, just ask the brewer.

Opened this 20 year old bottle after it started leaking through the cork. clear red amber with lovely golden hue, lightly pinkish head. Sour hay, light ensilage and leather. fruity/flowery farm. Sparkly, fizzy despite the seepage. Fairly sour on the palate, dry on the tongue, acidic, not completely puckering. Sour fruits, a bit vinegar, certainly still raspberry in the finish. Not one for mass consumption, but a fun sour fizz.

A lightly hazed golden lambic with a very thin white. In aroma, nice sweet fruity malt with light Brett horseblanket, light pepper and flowers, very nice. In mouth, a nice tart mix of lactic notes, light cereals, Epsom salts, horseblanket, very nice. On tap at Clandestin.

Ну приятный ламбик, немного томный на тело, тяжлее обычного. Есть много бочки от крепкого алкоголя, но трудно понять что именно, это конечно не стаут тебе. Хорошо.

0,75l from bottle at home. Bottled 18. June 2021. Darker yellow almost hazy color, small white head. Smells funky, fruity, rhubarb, light sulphur, earthy, very nice smell overall. Full body, bubbly carbonation. Tastes rhubarb, fruity, ripe fruits, flowers, some funk, subtle oak, light walnuts, citrus. Finishes bubbly, lightly dry and lightly bitter with notes of rhubarb, funk and citrus notes. very nice one, great balance, on the bubbly side of things, but I very much like it.
