12 ounce bottle. Pours a crystal clear golden hue with a medium white head. A light toasted malt nose. Sweet, citrus, light resin, crystal malts, a bit of bread. Pretty clean, good.

At the penn brewpub at the pittsburgh airport. Big & black $7 draft. Nice head. Nice roasty nose as well. Slight burnt bitterness but its well behaved. Civilized dark beer. Hints of old damp previously burned campfire wood. Burnt wood sensation settles in in the end.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a murky tan color with a medium sized foamy white head that left decent lacing. The aroma was grainy with cracker and vague berry. The flavor was tangy and grainy with cracker and vague berry. Medium length finish. Medium body.

Draft at Penn Brewery In Gate A, Pittsburgh, PA airport. Clear gold color with a small white head. Very fruity aroma. The taste is not as fruity as the nose. Slightly harsh acidic finish. Okay. The finish drags down the rating.

Draft at Penn Brewery In Gate A, Pittsburgh, PA airport. Clear raw umber color with no head or lacing. Dark malts with a syrupy sweet taste. Honey and molasses mix. 6.5% ABV is well hidden.
