12 oz. bottle that I purchased @ Nikki’s Liquors, Providence, R.I. for $3.99. Cloudy amber with spotty lace in the snifter. Nose is copious amounts of English malts and Belgian yeast. A very different aroma. Flavor starts with pale malt paired with some yeasty/earthy notes. Decent yeast presence throughout. A nice warming alcohol burn is found after the sip without having any alcohol taste. No date of any kind on the label, so it’s hard to know how long this sat on the self at Nikki’s. Moderate carbonation, giving the texture a smooth and creamy feel. Honestly, if you let the ABV mellow on this brew it can be an enjoyable sipper. I liked it.

Sample at the Blarney Wine tasting on 03/16/2013: Hazy deep copper color with a medium beige head that diminishes slowly. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, caramel and grapeftuit. Medium to full body with flavors of bready malt, citrusy hops and a touch of vanilla. The finish is sweet with a citrus and malt aftertaste. Above average overall.

My wife brought this one back from a trip to Rochester. +++ Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a medium sized foamy brown head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was sweetish, malty and toasty with notes of cherry and berry underneath. The flavor was cherry and port wine followed by toasty malts and a bit of wood. Long almost roasty finish of cherry, port wine and wood. Moderately full bodied. Solid.

Location: Draft at Dinosaur BBQ-Newark, 12/27/12

Aroma: The nose of this beer is fairly subtle, with bready and sweet malts
Appearance: It pours a clear orange color without much in the way of head or lace
Flavor: The flavor is a little more pronunced, it is lightly sweet and malty, with minimal bitterness
Palate: This one has a light body, a decent feel, and an average carbonation
Overall Impression: I wasn't really that impressed by this one. It's an alright, but lacking beer in my opinion. It just felt a little dull.

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark nut brown color with orange highlights and a medium sized creamy tan head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was sweet toasted caramel, cherry, plum and a bit of wood. The flavor was tangy cherry, plum, caramel, cola and pear. Medium length tangy finish with lingering fruit and caramel. Medium body. Solid.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Half Time, 10/14/12

Aroma: The nose is fairly sweet: orange, citrus, and tropical fruits mostly, with spice and pine notes
Appearance: It pours a cloudy orange color with a small white head and light-medium lace
Flavor: The taste has some sweetness, but it is not as sweet as the nose would suggest, the citrus and tropical fruits are a little less prevalent in the flavor, there's a little more spice, a bit of booze, and a medium bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it is a little sticky, with a lively carbonation, a little heat, and a little dryness
Overall Impression: Overall, this is a pretty nice beer for sure, but it is not a top-of-style IIPA. It is plenty drinkable though, and certainly worth trying. Solid stuff.

My wife brought this one back from a trip to Rochester. +++ Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy caramel-brown color with a medium sized creamy orange-white head that left decent lacing. The aroma was tangy sour caramel, a bit tart and had moderate notes of dark fruits and Pez. The flavor was sweet and tangy with a sour caramel note and elements of fig, raisin, molasses, pine, resin and bubblegum. There was a boozy presence throughout. The finish was long with sour caramel, molasses and pine lingering. Moderately full bodied. Decent but a bit of a disappointment for the style.
