Canned beer that I picked up from Bellingers Jet Garage, Grove, nr Wantage, Oxon 16-09-09 consumed the same day Pours light amber with white head. There is a syrupy sweetness to the nose with some honey citrus aromas trying to break through. The taste is also a touch of the heavy syrupy side but there is plenty of tangerines, peach and soft juicy fruits going on here and whilst there is no denying that this is a tad sweet I have to confess to rather enjoying this offering from Steamworks. DMSed aroma of green beans and peas. Milky yellow with a thin vanishing head. Lemony malt flavor, DMS still evident. A bit of green olive is lieft on the palate, which isn’t unwelcome. Flawed.

Can. Aroma is a touch of hops, with a slight creamy taste. The flavor is a light floral, with touches of hops - not as hoppy as I expected, but it’s nice, smooth, and certainly something to enjoy every once in a while.

A grandiose thanks goes out to mtoast for this special brew and for the locale! Had the pleasure of sampling this at the 7/9/2009 Pittsburgh RB tasting extravaganza (PGHRBEXT) at the Sharp Edge Creekhouse, again courtesy of mtost. It will be a long time, if ever I see a spread of bottles like I did there. I am not good enough for the beers that were that we served! For example, how about this beer; 3rd eye PA! Smells a little odd and fruity, perhaps some floral hops on the olfactory. Pale lager appearance. No head. Quit soapy on the palate. Odd taste, bitter and rude at times. Finish is somewhat like dish or hand soap. Quite on style, rude and crude. More like a IIPA. Long lingering bitter medicinal finish.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright orange-amber color with a small white head. The aroma was faint with traces of caramel and pineapple. The flavor was sour, tangy and fruity with light notes of pineapple and grapefruit and a nutty malty undertone. The finish was medium length tangy and fruity. Decent.

Can from Once Upon a Vine - South on 07/24/2009. Clear amber body with a medium frothy off-white head. Sweet toasty and light malt aroma. Sweet toasty and light bready flavor with some caramel and a dry light bitter finish. Medium body with moderately low carbonation.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Total Wine in Richmond, 7/9/09
Aroma: Strong hoppy nose, floral and citrus/grapefruit
Appearance: Pours a really nice looking orange-amber color, about an inch and a half of creamy white head, lots of lacing
Flavor: Nice hoppy flavor here, good mix of the hops, little bit of sweet caramel malts for balance, tasty
Palate: Nice full bodied beer, crisp and enjoyable, relatively long finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a really nice example of a style I love. It has a good mix of tasty hops, strong bitterness and flavor that I hope for from this style. Not a lot of complaints here, a really nice beer.

Clear light copper coloured body with a nice sized tan head. Aroma of fresh citrusey, piney and very strongly perfumey hops. Medium-bodied; Strong assertive perfumey hops coupled with a good malt backbone and a very light citrus flavour last long. Aftertaste is fairly light, not much coming through aside from the hops and a bit of pungent malt. Overall, a good, but not drawn out enough flavour throughout - but definitely good to try and I do love th can. I sampled this twelve ounce CAN purchased from Westover Market in Arlington, Virginia on 19-April-2009, sampled at home in Washington on 01-July-2009.

Bottle 65 cl. Slightly hazy amber golden with an off-white head. Intense and fat hop aroma with some overripe fruit. Quite full-bodied, sweetish caramellish malt and a pretty solid malty feel. Again some overripe fruit. Perfumy hops in the finish med a surprisingly discreet bitterness. 290509

22 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Arlington, VA. Pour hazy amber with a large head. Excellent head retention and lacing. Very strong hoppy aroma with lots of resin and citrus notes and a toffee finish. Taste is toffee and loads of hops, particularly tropical citrus notes and a bitter resiny finish. Sticky texture and full bodied. Very nice beer.
