Description
The first real Cretan beer was a result of Dr Bernd Brink, a German mathematician based in Scotland. He came to Crete and, as a German might, wanted to bring to the island above all a genuine German beer. So the Rethymnian Brewery was set up.

Bottle as Cretan Kings Mountain Beer. Clear light golden, white head. Malt, bisquit, grain aroma. Watery, malty and grainy flavour. Sweetish with very light hoppy bitterness. Not the worst I have had.

Good dense & fine yellowish head over faintly veiled orange-golden beer. Nose as of concentrated caramel, diacetyl. Faint whiff of coffee. Corn, diacetyl, rainwater, iron. Much less caramel than in the nose, just some toasted malts. Good carbonation, sticky-slick feel from the diacetyl. Oops. Σας ευχαριστώ, Μιρανδα (en Ronald)!

Huge, fne & dense white head, stable, fed by lively carbonated clear yellow-golden beer. Yeast keeps clinging in the bottle. Grassy nose, bit cornflakes; sweet slightly honeyis pale malts. Bit bready, pale malts dominated beer with just a fine (metallic-ish) bitter lining in the finish. Sweetish throughout, Very carboated, bit gristslick, light body. Average.Σας ευχαριστώ, Μιρανδα (en Ronald)!

Not very dark, in fact, not dark at all. Darker golden colour under a huge, quite dense and stable slightly yellowish head. Caramelly nose, arachide (speaking of fatty acids), nutty, sugarcoated peanuts. More arachide/fatty acids in the flavour, with a light, rather welcomed if not persistent light acidity in the finish. Quite sweet, always with the peanut characteristic. Light body, decent carbonation. Fatty acids, thought not disturbingly. But... dark??? Σας ευχαριστώ, Μιρανδα (en Ronald)!
