Bottle from the Brewery. Pours semi-clear blonde. White, rather stable white head. Smell is bit hoppy, not so intense, but has some fruityness as well as some grassy tones. Taste is rather bitter, some milky aroma ( sorachi ace-like, but I don’t get it’s typical coconut aroma ) somewhat fruity. not much maltyness ( bit sweetness, for those who search ) and not much yeastyness. very overcarbonated. OK MF. Bit to high in ABV to what I concider a session IPA to be, but taste-wise def goes towards that direction rather than an IPA.

tapat the Brewery. The brewer told me he experimented with the amount of chili’s in each growler given to the group ( check out their site for more info about the concept so you’ll understand why and how ) . This version was on tap, so i’ll rate this, but like to point out another sample might have different amounts of chili. Pours dark amber, not clear, really just a ring of foam, no real head. Smell is very mild, bit of cornflakes, mild hoptouch. Taste is full, some of the peppers (they build up) spicyness, very smooth, rather thin MF, as well as a higher carbo (this seems to be a problem with most Belgian beers) peppers here are not overkill, but present. No real yeasty flavor. I really like the balance with the peppers here, but it does need more MF, complexity, and less carbo to make it truly great.

Tap at the Brewery. Pours unclear, light amber, with a small white head. Foam doens’t last long, but does have some life in it. Smell is in-your-face clear lemonzest indeed. A mire complex, sub-layer of the tea-giving a herbal spicyness. All together, it seems refreshing, yet - unfortunately- a bit too perfumed. Taste is rather intensely sharp, bitter, lemon zest, herbal-spiced tea aspects. High on carbo. Rather light MF, not so balanced. More bitter than the body of the beer can handle, making it pretty unbalanced. At this amount of herbs and hops, you’ll need a stronger, heavier basebeer.
