Brasserie 28 (previously Caulier Developpement: La Maison Caulier) owns 1 brewery:
Description
In 2007, the NV Brasserie Caulier was declared bankrupt. The Caulier brand name came into the hands of the beer company Bien-Être Développement, headed by the entrepreneur Eric Coppieters, which subsequently changed its name to Caulier Développement.

In 2012, he opened a new chapter in the long history of exceptional craft beers by vowing to deliver locally brewed craft beers, to sell them within 28 weeks of bottling through 28 gastro pubs and to deliver them within a 28 minute radius. This way our consumers and customers would receive the beer at peak flavour.

In 2013 the name was changed into Caulier Sugar Free. In 2020 - after a hefty capital investment - the name of the company was changed into Brasserie 28, which is more in line with the ambitious plans of Coppieters (like establishing of a new brewery in Brussels).

For the time being the beers are brewed at the Proefbrouwerij.

Bottle from the brewery, aged almost 1 year. Pours pitch black with a big brown head. Smell of chocolate, coffee and liquor. Flavor is strong on the coffee and toasted side, hints of honey-sugar, liquor, whiskey. A prominent note of pepper for an intensely spicy taste, yet sticky sweetish (cake) and mild bitter (coal), earth/peat. Finish is long, burning, toasted, peppery, spicy, light smoked. Texture is thick, heavy body, like, petroleum-heavy. Not an easy one

I think it’s spot on for the style. Not bitter, quite hopped, very wit-like with belgian yeast notes. Not my style, but well done. Online saveurbier

Fles gedeelt door Inoven, het is een licht oranje bier met een volle witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een moutige wat muffige geur. De smaak is fruitig en citrus achtig. Drinkt best goed weg voor een glutenvrij bier.

14 November 2019. At Cambrinus, Bruges. Shared with the lovely Anke! Pours hazy brown-amber with a big, lasting, frothy, tan head; decent lacing. Aroma of caramel, prune, raisin, red apple, toast, dried tea leaves. Taste is medium fruity sweet, hints of prune, raisin, sourish brambleberry, going over a liquorice & caramel base with a herbal, slightly spicy bitterness. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, lingering caramel, dried fruit & warming liqueur alcohol. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. 'Basic' Belgian brown, just okay.

Near black with a ring bubbly tan head. Aroma of big oxidization, this bottle certainly has some age on it. Malt, caramel and overripe dark fruits putting in an appearance too. Flavour is above moderate sweet and light moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
