Bottle from the Brewery store. Pours a solid dark brown with a decent sized off white head. Toffee, caramel, and dark fruits with just a hint of earthiness. Medium body moderate carbonation. One of the better ESB’s that I’ve had.

Bottle from the brewery shop. Pours a fairly clear deep golden color with a smallish off white head that slowly dissipates leaving a light amount of stickies on the way down. The aroma is quite sweet and heavy with sugary caramel. Citrus and pine provide balance but this this one feels heavy and sweet like a hoppy barleywine. The flavor follows the aroma with lots of caramel and brown sugar offset with some earthy pine citrus and ethanol. Medium body with a light to moderate level of carbonation and a sweet sticky almost syrupy mouthfeel. Feels like an IPA from the nineties, crystal malt sweetness light if any dry hopping. I can drink this but compared to some of the ipa’s out there now, I would choose something else.

I had to update this after noticing that the bottle I have was packaged in May even though I bought it two weeks ago at the brewery. It is possible that this is much better fresher, but right now the hop aroma is not strong enough to cut through the intense malt sweetness.

Bottle from the brewery Pours a solid dark brown with ruby highlights and a smallish off white head that dissipates rather quickly. Aromas of roasted grain, toffee, caramel and hints of earthy. The flavor follows the aroma quite well. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation. Decent porter, I prefer them a bit more robust, but this one is tasty.

Thanks Geoff,
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy dark copper/light brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. There was some light slightly sticky and foamy lacing.
The smell had a bitter malty dried toffee to slight caramel aroma with a slight nutty edge in the background.
The taste was mainly a sweet dry caramel/toffee toastiness. There wasn’t any aftertaste but a dry caramel/toffee finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed good for the style and for me as it was smooth and slightly creamy.
Overall, good ESB I’d have again if I could.

Bottle from the brewery shop. Pours a crystal clear deep straw color with a huge tightly bubbled white head that leaves a huge a mount of stickies on the glass. Carmel, earth, and pine in the aroma. The flavor is caramel and earth again with a touch of resin and a hint of alcohol. Sweet maltiness with just a touch of hop flavor and bitterness. Medium body and a moderate level of carbonation. English style maybe, but really tame for an ipa, or too much crystal malt to let the hops shine through. I could drink this there’s nothing wrong with it but it has a 90’s old school feel to it.

Bottle from the brewery. Pours a crystal clear light golden color with a decent sized bubbly white head that slowly dissipates. Aromas of sweet honey with a light spice with almost a lime mint kind of thing happening? The flavor is pretty good actually, there’s an awesome raw grainy cereal type flavor in there that I really dig. Sweet sugary honey like maltiness with some spicy wheat and yeast flavors to counter. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation. Nice brew, I’m glad I picked this up because I almost passed based on style. I hope the rest of those propeller beers I brought back surprise me as well.

Bottle from the source. Pours a crystal clear deep straw color with a smallish but long lasting bubbly white head. Aromas of sweet bready pilsner malt with just a touch of toffee and some spicy floral hops to counter. The flavor is rich sweet bready and toffee pilsner malt with just enough spicy earthy hop flavor to balance nicely. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation. Nice pilsner I enjoyed it.

Bottle from the source. Pours a deep golden color with a smallish off white head that shows marginal retention. Aromas of toffee and caramel with hints of earthy citrus. The flavor follows the aroma and adds a bit more of that butterscotch that beer geeks up here seem to like. Medium body and level of carbonation. English inspired, okay brew.
