About

Bottled, 75cl. Dark brown with a large beige head. Aroma has malt, caramel, hops and some alcohol notes. Quite a lot of caramel and malt in the flavor. Lots of alcohol, but nice. Rating: 8-4-8-4-16-4. (060328)

Bottle, 75cl. It pours an unclear, brown body with floaties and a big, beige head. Very nice aroma, but hard to pin. Caramel, dried fruits and spicy hints are easy to find, and also some alcohol, but the rest seems to blend into unrecognisability in the typical Belgian way. The flavor is sweet and fruity, with more dried fruits than fresh fruits, a good dash of sugar, some caramel and chocolate, cellar and spices. A subtle bitterness also steps forward. Lots of carbonation, full-bodied and almost sticky mouthfeel. Smooth as hell, and slightly warming. Some bitterness in the finish. Dangerously easy to drink. Well, it’s not exactly a beer one can down several bottles of, but is sure slides down easily. (081108)

Bottle, 75cl corked. (RBNAG 07) This time as Millennium 2000. Clear pour, except for some floaties, golden to straw color, with a huge, white head on top. Sweet and slighlty grainy aroma with a little alcohol. Malty (wheat?) flavor with a balancing fruityness, as well as alcohol. Quite effervescent and warming in the mouth. Nice, but the Malheur beers somehow fails to be as good as expected. Rating: 6-4-7-4-15-3.6. I’m leaving the old rating valid.

Bottled, 0.75ltr. Lightly hazy and golden beer with a small white head. The aroma is mostly hops and alcohol with some yeastiness. Flavor has maltyness and sugar too. Full body and a mellow bitter finish. (060328)

Bottled. Golden colour, huge white creamy head. Aroma of fruits, barnyard and sugar. Flavour is barnyardish, soapy and fruity. Dry alcohol in finish. About beerstyle I think it was more like saison meets lager and wheat beer than strong ale...

Bottled, Bruges, 04-11-05. A warm golden slightly hazy coloured beer with a slim white head. Wonderfully tangled and complex layers of fruitiness and spices with hops in the background this is superb and actually even slightly better than the Malheur 12

Bottle Bruges 03-11-05 (and I brought some back with me) Dark brown beer, some hops and malts in the aroma, there is definately a wonderfully powerful sticky, spicy fruitiness to this beer, an excellent beer. I enjoyed all three of the Malheur beers I tried in Bruges wonderful!

Bottle at Paters Vaetje, Antwerp. Very dark brown with thin beige head. Carries its strength well. Burnt dark malts. Bit creamy in mouth. Some very dark fruits, bit of liquorice sourness. Actually, strong and sickly as it warmed up but then gets better.

Bottle at Paters Vaetje, Antwerp. Golden beer with thick white head. Taste is quite strong. Quite a light aroma. Some sweetish golden syrup, a little sharpness and then fine in mouth. Can’t taste the alcohol really, but the effect hits home. Strong golden barley wine which is a bit intense. 3 2 re rate at Cafe Frape Maastricht. Hazy deep gold colour lasting white head. I do like the aroma. Good in mouth. I mean it's strong carries it well. Good flavours. Citrus fruits. Sine good bitterness. I liked it. Impressive beer
