Description
We are an East Vancouver craft brewery inspired by tradition and creativity, and go beyond the ordinary to celebrate that which is strange* and extraordinary. The beer we make is influenced both by old world traditions and West coast ingenuity as well as by seasonal ingredients. Our barrel programme promises unique aged beers, and we have a bit of a thing for sour beer.

Poured from 650mL bottle (2019 vintage) at my 39th bday. Dark brown with small beige head. Boozy bourbon forward with some soy sauce and oxidation from age. Courtesy of fiulijn.

[2019 vintage] Bottle pour. Pours dark brown with no head. Lots of espresso, dark malts, and some bourbon on the nose. Flavour has espresso, good roast, some bourbon barrels. It's nice, but the flavours aren't coming through as strongly as some of the more recent versions. Still a solid BA imperial stout.

On tap at Strange Fellows. Pours cloudy pale gold with a white head. Mostly light citrus on the nose. Flavour has a pretty nice hop expression with bright pine, tropical citrus, and some floral notes. Pretty solid.

On tap at Strange Fellows, pours a hazy blonde with a small white head. Nose has mild citrusy hops, a touch of earthiness, and biscuity malt. Flavour is bright, with plenty of citrusy hops, a touch of pine, and a crisp biscuity malt backbone. Citrusy, lightly bitter finish. Pleasant westie.

Pale straw colour. Nice malt on the nose, with just a light bitterness. Seems a bit weak overall, but not too bad.

On tap at Farmhouse Fest 2025, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma is gentle, with straw and biscuity malt. Flavour is clean, with straw, biscuity malt, and some grass. Finishes dry and clean but boring.

On tap at Strange Fellows, pours an opaque yellow with a small white head. Nose is fairly neutral, with a touch of hopburn and gentle citrusy notes. Flavour is much the same, with light hopburn, a touch of lemon cleaner, light bitterness. Not much going on here, and what little there is isnβt particularly intriguing.

On tap at Strange Fellows, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma has crisp citrus hops and dry crackery malt in good balance. Flavour is dry and crisp, with a dry, floral and citrusy hop character, backed with dry crackery malt. Reasonably hopped for pale, ending crisp. Simple, clean, drinkable. Solid.
