This seems to be a similar recipe to the regular Hakama, but ramped up to an imperial. Deep orange amber, clear, with a low fine head. Nose is caramel, pine, grass, very resiny. Old school. Flavor of citrus, caramel, some chocolate, pine. Like a somewhat heavier version of Minoh's WIPA. Very bitter finish which makes it crisp. Decent but a bit out of date.

Tap at Komachi. Clear orange-gold, though I heard it was a NE IPA and cloudy until this last pint of the keg (?). Nice citrus nose, orange, grapefruit, some tropical fruit, bit of honey malts. A bit sweet and very fruity, nice citrus. Balanced and tasty, not really juicy in the NE vein but good.

Tap at craft beer holiday, the aroma is big juicy citrus a bit pithy. Grapefruit and dry wheat dust on a light crisp body. Opaque matte copper in color, this is a richly satisfying beer but needs to be a bit fuller to satisfy the requirements of the style though it is a damn nice IPA which makes the people chasing the blue Johanna garbage all the more galling.

This secret beer got no love at Craft Beer Holiday while everyone chased their blue garbage beer cocktail, though when I mentioned it had been quietly tapped to staff elsewhere they went running to get some. A rich sweet malty whiskey aroma. Medium to full bodied on an inky black pour. The aroma was oaky whiskey, the beer was super smooth lots of soy and whiskey big dark beer flavors. Later on, I found it to be full of treacle, whiskey and oak. Brian would have loved this. A big bold BA beer that blew me away and had me wondering why they don't do better more often? I guess crappy beer cocktails pay the bills...

Bad color. Messed up sour malty with chocolate and celery. The remake was worse than the original

Slightly hazy, light wheat nose. The meeting mouth is a bit heavier with some dicyatle. Rice makes the beer smoother. Not as good as the regular but not bad

On tap at Raku. Pours a clear yellow amber color with a medium white head. A nice earthy sweet nose. Really reminds me of corn, very sweet, toast, light citrus. Solid.

On tap at Raku. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a medium white head. A nice smooth citrus bready nose. Grainy, slightly tart straw, lemon, oranges. Solid.

Tap at Gifu Beer Matsuri 2017. Not a true gose, but a saison base with citrus fruit and salt added. Cloudy gold with lace. Pretty. Crackery malt nose, citrus, wheat, biscuit. Sweet and fruity, crackers and biscuits on the malt side, citrus, salt. No lactic acid. Spicy yeast. Decent. 6/4/7/3/14

Yeasty medium brown. Thick head. Fairly toasty, touch of fruity hop, touch of diacetyl. Toasty, bit of chocolatey sweetness...again finding a touch of diacetyl under there but barely perceptible. Good but the clumsy elements are disappointing.
