Tap at Osaka Castle. Green-ish blue color, cloudy, with lace. Malty, yeasty nose, bit rough Belgian yeastiness. Rather cloyingly sweet because of the additive, fruity, a bit funky and astringent. Meh.

Taste at Osaka Castle. Watery orange soda with a bit of bitterness in the finish. This tastes nothing like beer, and though drinkable and slightly refreshing, is not even as good as an Orange Crush. No thanks.

On tap at Craft Beer Holiday. Johana Ore no Aji 2015 A deep reddish brown with a dank piney hop bouquet. Medium to full bodied with a citrusy and piney flavor. Quite nice.

Johana Ore no Saison Masaru IPS 4.5% On tap at Craft Beer Holiday.
A nice orange gold with an off-white head. Big peppery and spicy aroma with a solid saison aroma. Bready, tart, lemon and wheat flavor. A crisp clean saison with lots of lemon. A cut above their regular releases and a top quality saison.

funky nose with lots of cracked pepper, lemon wheat, hoppy nose. Dry smooth mouth, tons of Belgian yeast. Very authentic. Big dry funky long finish with big estry notes. Awesome .

licking vanilla chocolate cake drenched in bourbon. I just can’t believe there is no nose. Super smooth mouth. Light body. Just a bourbon lovers heaven. Omg. This is not about balance depth etc this is just about bourbon barrel imperial Porter. Fucking awesome

dark brown color. Dark plums and chocolates nose. The mouth is rich, chocolately, slightly boozy, medium body, slight whiskey notes. Great depth. Great mouth feel but a bit boozy rich. Big rich plum and chocolate finish.

Tap at Toranomon. Very pale gold-pink color, clear, looks like colored water. Low head. Nose is rosewater, gummi bears, some cherry, lemonade. Sweet, disgustingly sweet, cherry gummi bears and over-sweet lemonade. Thin and sugary. This is gross. Nothing about this is beer.

Tap at CBM Jimbocho. Caramel and toffee nose with some apricot and stone fruit as it warms. Malty, British-style IPA without much going on. Easy drinking and better than Johana’s fruit forays. Meh simple enough.

Soft darjeeling aromas with some light jasmine notes as well with a hint of honey. Sweet tea like body on the palate but easily quaffable. Not really beer like but OK for what Johana wants to do.
