Tap at Molto. A clear very pale gold with a thick fizzy head of foam. A fruity pear/Apple aroma with a medium body and a dry finish. The taste is pear & grapes with cream soda and wheat flakes, surprisingly sweet and wheaty. Sweet fruits, wheat and spices. My takeaway is a fruity cider with a wheat spiced porridge character. Not very beer like but OK. Now that I’m home and have done a bit of research I’ve confirmed it’s a pear beer.

On tap at The Lower Right, Tokyo. Pours deep orange with white head. Malty, biscuit, fruity, sweet, bitter finish. Medium bodied. Not bad at all.

Tap at Keyaki. Dark brown with lace. Nose of chocolate, licorice, orange, coffee, decent. Nice hoppy citrus flavor, chocolate, spices, decent. Nicely rough, bitter finish.

Tap at Osaka Castle. Light yeast in the nose, citrus, bread. Bright, glowing gold. Flavor coming on light a light Dupont, great citrus, clean bready malts, dry, peppery, tingly finish. Great stuff. Wish they would forget the blue beers and focus on stuff like this.

Tap at Osaka Castle. Green-ish blue color, cloudy, with lace. Malty, yeasty nose, bit rough Belgian yeastiness. Rather cloyingly sweet because of the additive, fruity, a bit funky and astringent. Meh.

Taste at Osaka Castle. Watery orange soda with a bit of bitterness in the finish. This tastes nothing like beer, and though drinkable and slightly refreshing, is not even as good as an Orange Crush. No thanks.

On tap at Craft Beer Holiday. Johana Ore no Aji 2015 A deep reddish brown with a dank piney hop bouquet. Medium to full bodied with a citrusy and piney flavor. Quite nice.

A nice orange gold with an off-white head. Big peppery and spicy aroma with a solid saison aroma. Bready, tart, lemon and wheat flavor. A crisp clean saison with lots of lemon. A cut above their regular releases and a top quality saison.
