Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm. Cloudy golden, small head. Aroma of cobwebs and lemon. Intensely sour with fairly soft mouthfeel and medium body. Salty, citric and sour. Barnyard, hay and cobwebs. Intense, yet superbly drinkable.

Sample from 375 ml corked green bottle, at Cardinal’s stand at Øl- og Akevittmessen in Stavanger. Hazy golden colour, fizzy white head. Complex and funky aroma and flavour, fairly acidic, notes of farmhouse and lemons. Proved quite popular at the festival.

375mL bottle, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma of horse blanket, light vinegar, some light funk, and mild acidity. Flavour of medium sour notes, tons of horse blanket and funk, and some oak barrels. Finishes on some lemony, tangy notes. Low carbonation for a gueuze, which allows the complexity to properly exhibit itself. Unlike both Cantillon and 3 Fonteinen's regular gueuzes, this one is much tangier and less funky. Excellent, unique gueuze.
Update: newer versions of this seem funkier and less citrus / tangy, and even more complex. Fantastic stuff. Uprating this from 4.1 to 4.3.

Draught at Delirium Tremens, Brussels
Cloudy amber color, with some head. Mild aroma of caramel, with a creamy tone. Good mouthfeel, quite light lambic character, with moderate sweetness, and again an evident milky, creamy touch (and this is strange); some late astringency. Pleasant, but atypical.

On tap at Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas, March 2012. Clear medium yellow with a small white head. Refreshing and really drinkable. Not extremely tart neither in the aroma or taste. Citrus, wood, leather. The finish was dry.

Bottle: Poured a clear bright golden color lambic with a super huge foamy head with great retention and some good lacing. Aroma consists of light sour notes with light funky ester. Taste is also a mix between some sour and tart notes with light acidic undertones and some light funky ester. Body is about average with good carbonation. Well put together lambic mix except it may be a bit too balanced toward sour and acidic notes for my liking. I would have preferred more green apple and barnyard notes personally.

Picked this up at Hill Farmstead Brewery. Poured into a Flute glass. The bottle was at cellar temp so around 55.
A - Pouring carefully, I still got a 5-finger head with a nice mix of bubbles that quickly resided. This is a pale yellow color almost like a lemonhead candy with a lot of carbonation.
S - Immensely tart scent with some light honeysuckle, floral and leafy scents.
T - Excellent first taste upon hitting the tongue. Up front tart taste with a great earthy and dirt like taste and a lot of wood. On the back of the tongue, tongue tingling from a very sour taste. Overall, nicely balanced.
M - 90% carbonation on a mouth swish. Light bodied and very very dry. My mouth is left very dry and the aftertaste doesn’t linger at all. It’s gone pretty fast.
O - Very well balanced beer. Well done and very tasty.
2012 vintage update. Enjoyed from a 37CL bottle from hunger mountain. Much sweeter and more smooth and refined than before. Still an excellent Gueuze.

Had this at Ratebeer’s Horny Devil Pittsburgh Winter Tasting 2012. Big thanks to James for this gem. Cloudy orange yellow. Very sweet tart purfumy aroma. Like many real lambics – simply dee-lish. Good sour palate that is full of co2 impact, lovely. Really nice James! This Horny Devil rocks. When I think about lambic, I think about beers like this. Very good overall beer experience!
