Bouteille(750ml):Deep brownish-black coloured, big loose tanned head, solid sweetish-bitter chocolatey and fruity (dried red berries) nose, hints of vanilla and chocolate cake; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied and relatively soft; lingering soft sweetish chocolatey and fruity finish, caramel included, followed by a bitter aftertaste. Bottle shared at Moeder Lambic. Pours near black with a massive tan head. Aroma of roast, light lactose, chocolate, caramel. Flavour is moderate sweet and over moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

(Bottle, 0.75 l, at Gastropub Tuulensuu, 20131030) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had roasted malts, chocolate, hint of vinegar and mildly Belgian style yeast. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, dark chocolate, Belgian style yeast and bitterness. Aftertaste had cocoa and bitterness. A beer with nice taste but confusing aroma.

Small rim, veiled pale amber beer. Dry hops, garden herbs. Dry, hoppy, bitter-herbal. Feels very carbonated, rather slick, medium bodied. Nice, but De Ranke can do much better. Nose is all but absent.

Nice brown creamy longlasting head. Aroma is rich, dark malts, licorice, cocoa, chocolate, caramel, rubber, broth, dark sugar, vanilla. Taste is slightly dry and grassy, dark malts, grass, licorice powder, cocoa, green soap, hay. Medium bitterness, thin mouthfeel. Fair enough, a little boring when it comes to taste.
