Draft at Poechenellekelder, Brussels. Pours a cloudy golden with a fluffy white head and lacings. Hoppy fresh nose. Fruity , yeasty, hayish and hoppy taste. Very fresh! Ends dry. Very saison like.. Nice.

Bottled@Olutkellari Helsinki. Hazy golden colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma fruity, yeasty, a bit grassy and quite much caramel malts and mild sweetness from alcohol. Flavour is wood, fruits, yeast and some hints of caramel, nectar and rather sweet freshly cut wood.

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Hazy light orange colour, white head. Aroma of yeast, light hops, bread, wheat, some citrus. Flavour is malt, wheat, lemon, light sweet, yeast, good dry lasting hoppy bitter finish. Dry, light chalky mouthfeel throughout. Medium bodied, smooth carbonation. Really nice refreshing beer.

bottle at Københavnske Øldage 2009 cloudy brown, small yellow head. aroma is slight roasted grains, slight licorice. flavor is roasted grains, very bitter dry from hops, also some malty sweetness. re-rate, bottle as Zwarte Piet, clear dark brown, light brown head. roasted malts and faint booze in the aroma, also strong blonde notes, but the roasted malts dominate. Flavor is very nice black ipa, with more black than ipa - the hops work very well in the porter like brew, yielding dryness and bitterness. the roasted malts are rather sweet and the sweetness matches up nicely with the hops. Very nice black ipa from de la senne - i hope they only changed the label when zwarte piet became zwet ipa. my bottle is 8.2%

Bottle, thanks to Skinnyviking. Beige, creamy head. Cloudy, dark-brown in appearance. Dry, roasted malts and grain in aroma and flavour. Notes of sweet caramel. Some acid yeast to the ending that prevent it from getting too sweet. Actually, quite well balanced. Medium bodied. OK (København, 13.05.2009).

Very cloudy golden color, moving a touch towards amber, with a low, fine, thick head. Really appetizing. Aroma of golden pilsner malt, slightly bready, a bit of tart citrus fruit, good caramel. Rich golden malt flavor, grapefruit and other fruits, lots of caramel for such a light colored beer. Very nice, bitter, hoppy finish. Rather rich and thick mouth feel; very creamy. Nice in many ways, though the hops don’t really work as well as I expected. A bit too sweet, but interesting.

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Cola brown colour, yellow/beige head. Aroma of some peat, tar, roasted malts and light chocolate. Flavour is burnt malts, light tar, bitter chocolate, some coffee. Light coffee bitter finish, thin bodied. Very nice, would have been great with a bigger body.

Nice white fluffy head, over hazy orange-green beer. White candi sugar, dry nose, quite remarkably spicy with even patchouli, peppery. Very dry-bitter, again vegetable bitter, bit of cabbage-like sulphur. Medium bodied, slick; with long-lasting bitterness. Interesting variation on spiced triple.
