Can (11/10/26 stamped on bottom--best by date?) from Dan & Whit's General Store, Norwich, VT. Hazy bright yellow, nice sparkle, thick head with good retention, nice lacing. Aroma is strong cracker malt/wheat, light pine, citrus and florals. Taste is strong cracker malt/wheat, late oats over light, generic fruit, bitter pine. Smooth, frothy texture, soft carbonation, finish as taste. For a state that basically invented the NEIPA, seems weird that a beer labeled as a "Vermont IPA" would be so malt forward, piney and bitter. OK for what it is.

16 oz. can from a trade with tfontana. Aroma is soft herb and mild cracker malt. Flavor shows grapefruit and ends on herb. Body chewy malt sweetness that ends on light bitterness. Very old school. Nothing sexy here but it will get the job done.

3 ounce pour shared from a can at Vermont Brewers fest. Opaque black, ring of head. Aroma strong, roasted earthy malt, hint of chocolate & coffee.Taste strong, roasted earthy malt, vague anise, chocolate, hint of coffee.Smooth texture, soft carb, alcohol covered.

Appearance: semi-bright yellow color with a sly transparency about it and a finger's worth of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: sweet wheaty to floral qualities up front with a light candy to bubblegum-like sweetness in the middle then a subtle clove to woody spicy underneath part
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet to slightly spicy toned quality; finishes semi-crisp with a rustic sort of woody spicy edge to it
Texture: light to medium bodied; sessionable; light smoothness along the tongue with mostly nothing blocking the flow; good carb level
Overall: pretty nicely done Grisette I would return to.

Appearance: golden yellow to copper color with a quarter finger's worth of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: wet grains; floral hop notes; lemony sweet to tart tones; sweet wood and some rustic to earthy character
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet to subtle tart quality; finishes semi-dry with a light earthiness
Texture: light to medium bodied, somewhat sessionable; some smoothness but also a little bit of some tart nicks to the tongue - mostly non-aggressive
Overall: not a bad saison that seems to lean towards a tart/rustic one. I think I could come back to.
