Can (12/14/22) pour from Lazy Dog Beer Shoppe. It's a lightly hazy amber-rose with nice sparkle, 2-finger creamy tan nitro head with excellent retention and trace lacing. Aroma is earthy, toasted malt, caramel, nuts and mild spice (light a subtle winter warmer). Taste follows aroma, though less spicy. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth, frothy, nitro texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, aroma is stronger than taste. Light and enjoyable.

Bottle at the latest DC Ratebeer tasting. Poured a pitch black color with a small, tan head. Aroma was roasted malts, big chocolate and a ton of maple. Light rum, the maple dominates this one. Light bitter roast finish with a woodsy, maple finish.

Light roast and plenty of barrel. I don't get a lot of rum or maple. Dark brown pour with decent head. Bittersweet and tangy finish.

16 oz. can from Bier Cellar, Portland, Maine. Pours a clear dark root beer color with a large beige head and great retention. Very good lacing. Roasted molasses and dark bread aroma. Dark roasted walnuts flavor with a very dry finish. One of the darkest, driest brown I've ever had. Medium body. Lightly carbonated. Low bitterness. Well made, but not my favorite take on the style.

50cl bottle pours a murky, leggy black with a ring of beige head. Nose has cognac, malt, caramel, grapes, jelly, chocolate syrup. Flavor is booze, malt, chocolate, grapes, some pencil lead. Full bodied, sticky, boozy finish.
