16 oz. can from Bier Cellar, Portland, Maine. Pours a pitch black color with a small light tan head and poor retention. Where's the nitro? Zero lacing. Very light aroma of roasted chocolate. Good charred malt flavor, but with a lackluster finish. Light body and a thin mouthfeel. Almost no carbonation. Very low bitterness. Nitro would have helped a lot. Shame.

16 oz. can from Bier Cellar, Portland, Maine. Pours a clear bronze color with a khaki head and good retention. Spotty lacing. Caramel malt aroma. Caramel malt flavor to match the aroma, with a slightly harsh finish. Not as malty or sweet as better Marzen beers. Medium body. Lightly bitter. Medium carbonation. Good, not great.

16 ounce can. Medium gold pour has a slight haze. Large frothy white head. Bready, grainy malt aroma leans toward earthy herbal hops. Sweet malty flavor upfront. Grassy, herbal hops follow suit. Some hop spice in finish. Malt dominates this one, though it balances nicely.

Half liter, clear dark gold with some creamy white head.  Nose has bread and honey and oyster cracker and orange.  Czech style?  Maybe.  Flavor is doughy, sweet, honey.  It's a touch too sweet and adjunct forward to be Czech.  Creamy finish.  6 3 6 4 12

Nitro pour is a clear orange with a nice cap of white head. Nose is true to style, butterscotch and malt and treacle and sweet tea. Flavor falls off some, really just treacle and dough and butterscotch. Creamy, medium bodied finish.
