Can from the brewery
Cloudy pale yellow colour, dull, ugly. Mild fuity aroma (tropical, mango), lightly cheesy. Dirty mouthfeel, the flavour is a mess too, with some harsh fruit and some astringency in the finish; it seems a bit drier or more carbonated than Betty, and lightly minty, otherwise they feel very similar; one of the worst IPAs I had in some time, and it was $6.50 from the brewery, screw you!

16oz on Alex's porch. Appearance: hazy dirty straw with a weak white head. Aroma: a little bit dusty (less than Betty) with tropical fruits character with some herbal character. Taste: along the same lines, quite dry and herbal. Overall: ok.

On tap at Main Street, pours a cloudy, somewhat dirty yellow with a small white head. Nose is somewhat tangy, bringing out a more white wine character from the hops than Betty did, along with earthiness and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour reveals a pleasant tangy, white wine hop character, with crisp biscuity malt. The clarity of the hop expression is noticeably better on this one than Betty. Somewhat bright and only lightly bitter finish. Good.

On tap at Main Street, pours a cloudy, somewhat dirty yellow with a small white head. Aroma is muddy, with a dirty, earthy hop character, moderate chalkiness, and harsh toasted grains. Flavour is dirty as well, with earthy hops, some light tanginess, and crusty bready malt. The clarity isn't the best. Not sure how this hop is supposed to taste normally, but this doesn't remind me of the best NZ hop expressions. Okay.

On tap at Main Street, pours a clear pale blonde with a small white head. Aroma is light and clean, with gentle grass, straw and crisp crackery malt. Flavour is clean and restrained, with straw, biscuity malt and toasted grainy notes. Nothing particularly interesting here but it's clean and drinkable.

Tepid foam on a medium coppery brown body. Smells of soft maltiness with vague cereal. Taste is smooth malts, soft honeyed cereal, rustic rye bread. Smooth cask finish, full. easy and reliable but not a standout.

Okay dark brown body with soft foam. Smells of heavy molasses, strong paint thinner notes, closer to barley wine. Taste is good barley with floral notes, soft cardamom, breadiness and perfume. Ends full, warming, abv working well. Ends poetic in a bittersweet way.

Milky yellow body with a kind of tepid foam on top. Smells of nice candied hops, sweet papaya, lemon zest. Flavour is nice pine and fruity papaya, pine lingers. Pretty reliable IPA, nothing more, nothing less.
