Bottle at the pre-Pre-Borefts TZT tasting at Kim Jung Un Buurtcentrum, Zd. Unclear pale amber with white head. Sour grains, grapeskins, rusty, oxidation, apple peels, some sugary character but not so much as I feared. Moderate sweet and bitter, light sour. Medium body and soft carbonation. --- Beer merged from original tick of Lambic Faro Au Sucre D'erable on 09 Sep 2018 at 14:41 - Score: 7

Thnx to François !!! Pours unclear amberblonde. Small head is extremely unstable. Gone within a second. Smell is full, dry, tad tart, mild sugary aroma. Taste is weird. Not the gentle balance you expect in a faro. Shows signs of oxidation, and a sweetness I'd more pair with that ( think of honey, earthy, apples, yes even some mild cardboard). Mild herbal like, earthyness I never experienced in a faro. More tart than sweet, for sure. Wouldn't even call it sweet, actually. Somewhat 'rotten' tho. It feels off, but not in a way I experienced before. Maybe they used a different kind of sugar than what I'm used to in a faro? (note to self, yes, maple sugar rather than the common used candy sugar) not my favorite faro....

Pours darker u clear blonde. Foam is gone within a second. Smell is tart ( lemon acid) bit plastic as well. Taste is sharp, dry tart ( lemon sour) intense lemon tartness, but it's gone immidiatly. Not very complex, no depth... I respect their attempt, but it's not even in the same ballpark as the real stuff.
