Small white rim over hazy yellow beer. Typical lambic nose with lemon, horseblanket, old wood and sulphur. Lemony gueuze, maybe less complex than the nose, tad of sweetness. Long lasting lemony flavours. Very good, resistent carbonation, acidthinning. Superb, amongst the best De Troch.

Sampled from tap at ACBF 2017 as ’Naparbier Oude Gueuze’. Clear, golden amber with a white head. Sourish-fruity, very funky aroma of lemon, gooseberry, rhubarb, oak, straw and barnyard. Moderately sour, dusty, funky and quite fruity taste of lemon, oak, sweat, barnyard, leather and gooseberry, followed by a medium long, moderately tart, very dry finish. Medium body, slightly astringent and quite effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Lovely!

3/III/17 - 75cl bottle @ ACBF (Vichte) - BB: n/a (2017-287) Thanks to all ratebeerians for sharing today's beers!
Clear orange beer, practically no head. Aroma: real geuze smell, brett, complex, fruity, woody, vanilla, nice one! MF: soft carbon, light body. Taste: bit lemony, watery, soft bitterness. Aftertaste: some tannins, ok but not very complex.

Draft - Lots of fruity tropical notes, coconut and husks. Turbid yellow gold with a small white head. Coconut, husk and nice tropical notes. Finish is very coconut heavy with a dry finish. Pretty good for what it is.

Draft - Nice toast and earthy mushroom notes. Jet black brown with a decent beige head. Toasty and earthy notes. Not great, much too earthy.

Bottle. No head. Aroma is quite intensive, with herbs (dill?). Heavy sour. Medium bitterness. Good, but not exceptional - maybe I’m not a fan of gueuze.

On tap in NaparBCN on 19th Jan 2017. Cloudy old gold body, thin white head. Loads of tropical fruit esters from the hops hit your nose and the taste is also of semi-sweet fruitiness tempered with a light citrus bite: OK rather than wow.
