750ml bottle from the LCBO.
Pours a little lighter than i expected. A tad hazy, mahogany/amber, with a big beige head. The aroma is quite nice, and complex. First thing is a big dose of peat, and smoke. Wow, you can really smell the Whiskey. The malts are still there, and they blend so well with the peat, and smoke, touches of sausage too. The carbonation is soft, and the mouth feel is spot on. The alcohol is very well hidden. The finish is super satisfying, loads of smoke, and peat, the whiskey is the star of this beer. The barrel, and wood makes an appearance in the finish. An absolute perfect blend of scotch ale and whiskey barrel. This is what Unibroues’ Raftman wishes it was.

Smells like a lighter Pilsner with some sweet malts and some Saaz hoppiness. Lightly hazed with some tiny particles floating around. The head is white, frothy, leaving some creamy lacing and top over the brew. The taste is mild, but some decent hops do come out, creating a little dryness. A refreshing, crisp light Pilsner-APA style brew.

This Kolsch poured a hazy, medium yellow colour with a creamy, white head. Nice lacing. Scents include cucumber, light grass, malt and cooked veggies. First swig was interesting. Flavours of cucumber, very mild mint, malt and hops. Finish is mildly bitter with that cucumber flavour lingering.

(750ml bottle from 2012/13 I suppose, shared by Herbalist, thanks!) Pours murky deep rusty red-brown with an off-white head. Not in the best shape but not convinced it was ever that great, mix of heavy acrid peaty smoke, soft candied sugars and toffee, phenolic plastic, ash, oxidized metallic twang in there from the age. Light to medium oily body, still some remaining carbonation. Drain pour; partly our fault for drinking ignored cellar beers but several recent strong ales/BWs from the same time period of LCBO releases have been much much better.

Hazy golden colour with an orange hue. The head is fizzy, not long lasting, slightly off-white with not lacing. Mango nose with vanilla. Eventually, popcorn butter aromas come out. Yep, feels like diacetyl to me, with the butterscotch notes. Not very offensive, but weird with the sourness and mango, pineapples. Not as good as the Winter Blueberry I just had from them.

Winter Blackberry Sour at 5% ABV. Slightly hazy light golden colour with a pink hue. The head is mildly off-white, again pink hue with decent stay, leaving a tiny coat on top. Berry fresh aromas. The taste is where the sourness comes in, very nicely balanced with the blackberries. Thin finish with the berries lingering. A pretty nice easy-going fruity-sour brew.

Big fresh cucumber aromas which is great for summer. If there is mint in the nose, it is quite blended, hidden. Clean golden in colour with a nice creamy-frothy warm head, good retention, leaving creamy-foamy lacing. The mouthfeel is refreshing with the cucumber blending a little more, so less potent and the mint is very slight, replacing the hops in the finish. Again, pretty fresh. Shows some unfiltered aspect at last pout. The Kolsch graininess is mildly loss in this, but overall wish the mint was a little stronger to have a good mix between these fresh summer greens.
A hazed golden orange ale with no head. In aroma, sweet grapefruit, mango, lactic acid, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with light mango and sweet citrus, pleasant.
A golden hazed kolsch with a thin white head. In aroma, weird pickle juice, cucumber, so-so. In mouth, sweet malt, faint mint and cucumber. Can.
