(bottle) Clear, chestnut-brown colour with a mid-sized tanned blond foamy head. Slightly toasted malty and delicately fruity aroma with hints of caramel and traces of molasses. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Toast-malty taste with notes of caramel bread crusts and herbal hoppy accents; sweet-bitter caramelly and herbal hoppy finish. Likeable kind of Altbier. 31.I.14

500ml bottle. Clear brownish dark amber colour with aver age to huge, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Malty and slightly bready yeasty aroma. Taste is initially minimally sweet malty, slightly bready yeasty, minimally peppery, dry to bitter hoppy overtones, bitter finish. A bit thin, not overwhelming, but passably nice.

Rating from yesterday. 16.9 oz bottle. I realized the other day that I’ve never had an authentic German Kolsch, only American versions, so I had to get this, even though I’m not a fan of the style really at all. Pours mostly clear golden with a large-ish fluffy white head. Smells like hay, unripe berries. Taste is sweet and grassy with faint bitterness; very dry. Not bad for what it is.

Draught @ BBF13. Pours clear pale golden with small white head. Clear aroma of hops and yeast with a distinct note of paper. Sweetish, estery flavour with touches of hops and a clear paperlike finish. Not bad, just anonymous and rather standardlike.

Wässriger, dunkel malziger Antrunk. Die Intensität nimmt leider nicht zu, kein Hopfen, später leicht röstig. Süffig, was angesichts der Wässrigkeit aber keine Kunst ist. Langweilig, überflüssig. 7/8/8/6/6/7
