Appearance: Cloudy brown with a small head. Smells of sweet malts and caramel syrup. Flavor is criply malted, but plain. Finishes bitter. Too light and low in alcohol for a dubbel.

Deep red with a decent head. Smell is sweet, hoppy, and floral. The flavor is ESB-like minus the B... it’s not so bitter, but it has the same type of flavor. A drinkable beer, for sure.

Black with a small, creamy looking head. Very little aroma, but what’s there is sweet, almost floral, and quite pleasant. Tastes like cold coffee, toffee, oasted nuts. Finishes bittersweet & very flavorful. Tasty! Smooth in the mouth.

Listed as a dark old ale on their info sheet, this beer is black with a small head. Aroma is amazing: sweet hoppiness, floral, and chocolaty. Flavor is heavily piney, very similar to the Anchor Christmas beer... simply amazing. This, as of this moment, is the best offering I’ve sampled from South Street. I wanted to take home a growler of the stuff, but they didn’t have any growlers left. Hell, they could have thrown it in an old pickle bucket and I would have taken it home. Amazing.

On tap at the brewery. Appearance: black, no head whatsoever. No scent at all, good or bad. The flavor is really lacking, which is too bad. The only taste you get is the finish of a coffee-like bitterness.

On tap at the brewery. Black with a nice 1" head. Smells of sweet chocolates, licorice, and some undeterminable aroma. Taste is sweet chocolates. Has a smooth finish. A damn tasty offering!

Deep black, smallish brown head. Looks scrumptious. Smells of sweet malts mixed along with toasted and smoked somethings. Taste is beautiful: mixes the bittersweetness of the roasted malts with a unique smoked flavor that some of the best smoked beers can’t seem to grasp. A fine, possibly THE best offering from South Street thus far!

This ESB is incredibly good and very true to the style. Amber with a small head... looks lovely. Smells of bitterness and flowers are slight, pleasant, and not overbearing. Taste is bitter, and finishes with a floral hoppiness, just as the description said. Very lovely.

First off, if you’re calling it a bock, and then in your beer description saying it’s not a bock... well maybe time to rethink the name. Amber in color, no head. Very little smell, maybe slight maltiness, but not much else. Taste is thin, but not bad- and itdoes have that dortmunder-type flavor that others of the style have. It’s decent, but I’m put off by the name, since i was expecting a bock.

Deeper coppery amber, no head. Smells of an icky rotten substance, along with some beerish malts. Tastes like someone poured beer (any macro will do) into a pumpkin and then into a glass and served it up. Bitter, unfavorful, no spice whatsoever. Nothing to have more than once.
