2023 version drank December 2024. Black with a medium, dark tan head. Tons of sweet malt, chocolate, oak, nuts, red berries and molasses in the nose. Unique. Full, slick body. Flavor loses some of the uniqueness but retains intrigue. Chocolate, some burnt malt, oak, whiskey, nutty, dried fruit. Finish is somewhat sweet without being cloying. A fun brew.

Black with a thin tan head. Earthy notes up front with light dried cocoa powder, biscuit, faint coffee grounds, and a noticeable hint of bitterness in the dry finish. Medium to thin mouth. Simple but quite nice.

Black with a small, deep tan head. Full bodied. Big almond notes with lots of vanilla, light oak, whiskey, molasses, melted chocolate, light earth. Finish has a medium sweet note with more almond and some booze. It’s a solid beer for what it is- but the almond can be turned down from 11.

A bit cloudy orange with a thin head. Lightly sweet citrus, pine, resin, deep tropical notes. Medium bodied. Lightly dry in the finish with nice bitterness. Solid beer.

Clear blonde with a white head. Light grain notes. Not a lot else. Medium body. Light bitterness in the finish. Leans to cereal grain a bit far for me but others may dig that.

Black with a tall, firm tan head. Bold roasted malt, a bit of burnt malt, cocoa, light soy sauce, molasses, earthy hop notes, light spice notes. Body is lighter than I expected- it’s almost thin but not quite. Savory and charred malt finish. Has a layer of sweet over everything though it doesn’t come across as a sweet stout. It’s quite an interesting beer. Has many of the hallmarks of a classic Impy stout yet it comes across somewhat unbalanced with an aroma and mouth that don’t really come together as they should. Its tasty enough, but not something to inspire awe.
