Aroma of lambics and gueuze, wild yeasts all over the place, all perfectly defined. Body is foggy orange with a decent level of head on top. Flavour is gueuze with white wine notes; dry finish. It tastes as Belgian as the real thing; it’s my clear favourite find from Montreal’s winter warmer fest.

A reddish amber ale with a thick lacing off white head. A herbaceous caramel malt aroma, with light coriander and a bit of funk. In mouth, a sweet malt with light cinnamon notes, a bit boring. On tap at Brouhaha, Dec. 4 2010.

A reddish copper ale with a thin moka head. A pleasant aroma of sweet cinnamon, molasses, licorice and warming alcohol. In mouth, a smooth sweet malt with very nice treacle-barley candy, light cinnamon, sweet candi sugar, and warming alcohol. A xmas treat. Enjoyed Nov. 1 2010.

A golden amber lager with a thin off white head. In aroma, light caramel malt, faint and mundane. In mouth, a clean light biscuitty malt, creamy, light corn. Is this supposed to be a South American Lager...if so, it is! Rather cloying. On tap at Octoberfest des Québécois, Sept. 12 2010.

Draught at Churchkey, courtesy of the staff. Clear golden color, medium white head, nice lacing. Aroma of white pepper and malt. Taste is moderately bitter throughout, with much better body, better mouthfeel, and overall more character than most U.S. versions of APA. Nice!

Draught at Churchkey. Amber/brown color, huge solid white head and a solid curtain of lacing. Aroma of white pepper and hay. Taste is an odd combination of sour and bitter with some gun metal, perhaps overhopped, or perhaps an infection. I’ll have to try this one again, either from the bottle, or closer to the source, to see if this was just a problem with this batch.

Draught at Churchkey. Cloudy orange yellow, thick white had with great lacing. Aroma of baked bread. Taste has plenty of malt but a good dose of hops, so caramel flavors with a biter finish. Good stuff.
