Several glasses from a growler filled 3 hours previously at Martin City Brewing Company Pizza & Tap in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is a clear copper brown with a 1/2 inch well formed off white head. The aroma is resin, almost vanilla soft sweetness and cracker malt. The taste is the resin right away, along with a hint of the sweet which tastes more like toffee, then finishes with cracker and crystal malt. The resin slight herbal lingers. The palate is medium bodied with soft carbonation and the dry resin herbal finish. Hoppier amber ale feel to it, which worked.

750 ml corked and caged bottle purchased at Martin City Pizza and Tap in Kansas City, Missouri. Batch 15-1 printed on label. Cork jammed in again, but this time opens with a pop. The pour is a mostly clear copper, orange, ruby with a small light tan head. The aroma is orange citrus fruit, bit of the oak wood and some of the metallic I picked up on in the last bottle. The taste is fruit up front, blood orange, tart blackberry and finishes floral and wood. Bright tart fruit lingers in the aftertaste. The palate is light to medium bodied with low to flat carbonation and the bright fruit finish. Much improved. 6,4,7,3,14 - 3.4

750 ml corked and caged bottle purchased at Martin City Pizza and Tap in Kansas City, Missouri. Batch 15-1 printed on label. Cork was really jammed Iβm, took quite awhile to open. Finally comes out, with nary a noise. The pour is a clear orange ruby with a few soapy tan bubbles. The aroma is a bit metallic, orange citrus fruit, wood and oak. The taste is metallic oxidation, blood orange blackberry fruit, moving towards some floral spice and then closes with woody off flavors. The palate is medium bodied, entirely flat with oxidation and wood that lingers. Clearly cork didnβt do itβs job, bummer, Iβll need to find another bottle. 6,3,5,3,12 - 2.9

Several glasses from a 32 oz growler filled 3 hours previously at Martin City Brewing Company Pizza & Tap in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is a mostly clear golden with a smallish off white head. The aroma is a pleasant blend of the apple notes of Brandy and the grass and Belgian yeast of the Tripel. The taste is an equally nice blend of the barrel apple Brandy and the grass, straw, floral and yeast flavors. Clean tasty beer. The palate is me medium to heavy bodied with soft natural carbonation and the clean warming finish. This was nice, and I am generally not a fan of Brandy or Tripel.

12 oz goblet draft at Martin City Pizza and Tap in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is a dark brown black with a smallish off white head. Nice lace on the glass. The aroma is a nice roast, with sweet caramel malt and the oak and wood barrel towards the back. Some Bourbon booze present as well. The taste is bright Bourbon, followed by the sweet caramel malt, the roast and finishing with vanilla oak. Alcohol is decently integrated. The palate is medium to heavy bodied with soft carbonation and a natural softness carbonation and a bright Bourbon booze finish. This is a well executed Bourbon barrel porter, fans of the style will love this one.

Bottle thanks to theisti . Pours a ruby hue with a small white head. A big berry and oak nose. Interesting one: big sweet oranges and berries, light sourness, something akin to oak, a thin palate. Pretty smooth. Solid.

Several glasses from a growler filled 3 hours previously at Martin City Brewing Company Pizza & Tap in Kansas City, Missouri. the pour is opaque black with a tight Β½ inch khaki head. The aroma is char roast and caramel malt upfront, along with clove banana general hefe yeast. The taste is a really interesting and unique charred grain wheat, bit of the sweet caramel from the nose, and closing with Weizen yeast character, mostly the clove elements. The palate is medium bodied, active carbonation and mineral char finish. Fun, tasty beer.

Several glasses from a growler filled 3 hours previously at Martin City Brewing Company Pizza & Tap in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is a slight haze golden orange small with a small white head. The aroma is fresh resin, tropical hops along with a nice backbone of cracker malt. The taste is the resin hops, bursting fresh, along with big juicy tropical notes. As with the nose, the hops are supported by a clean malt backbone. The palate medium to light bodied, soft carbonation and a bitter resin, bordering on dank finish. Super drinkable, very tasty. I really enjoyed MCBC Hardway IPA, though I prefer this one due to its lower ABV and increased drink-ability.

750 ml corked and caged bottle purchased at Martin City Pizza and Tap in Kansas City, Missouri. Bot on 06-08-15 printed on label. The pour is a clear golden with a Β½ inch off white head that falls quick. Tons of fine carbonation bubbles rise to the surface. The aroma is dusty leather and lemon citrus. A bit of sweeter grass present as well. The taste is gentle fruit with apricot, mango, the lemon citrus then moves into the leather funk and grass of the Brett. Nice spice comes out in the aftertaste The palate is medium bodied, with fine carbonation and fruit Brett grass clove finish. Nice layering of flavors.

750 ml corked and caged bottle purchased at Martin City Pizza and Tap in Kansas City, Missouri. Bot on 06 04 15 printed ont he bottle. The pour is a black dark brown with a darker khaki one inch head. Foam falls with lace. The aroma is soft roast, cherry fruit and a bit of herbal leather yeast towards the back. The taste is the toasted roast malt, the fruit, which is more tropical fruit versus the cherry of the nose, a decent shot of wood then the dry leather earthy funk of the yeast finishes the flavors. Nice integration and transition of flavors. The palate is light to medium bodied with active natural carbonation and a lingering tart, funk almost sour yeast and barrel finish. Some of the roast also lingers. Interesting, creative beer - a lot going on in this one and still easy drinking.

750 ml corked and caged bottle purchased at Martin City Pizza and Tap in Kansas City, Missouri. Batch 15-1 printed on label. The pour is a hazed orange yellow with a foamy 2 inch head that leaves behind pretty coating lace. The aroma is soft young Brett yeast funk along with bright floral citrus, some nectarine fruit and a nice husky earth in the back. The taste is a nice blend of the soft wildness of the Brett yeast, the clean fruit malt and fresh bright citrus hop notes. Overall, great balance, freshness and expression. The palate is medium to light bodied, fine active carbonation, clean dry finish. Super easy drinking. the beer really hit its stride as it warmed. Reminds me a lot of a young Orval, great stuff.
