Established in 2007
In April/May 2021 Brouwerij Breugem ended its relationship with Brouwerij Hoop and moved to a new location back in Zaandam. A re-branding was implemented in October 2021, and a number of beers were given new names. Breugem Brewery will also continue as Breugem Bier. For the past few years, Breugem has been a client brewer at Brouwerij Jopen in Haarlem.
In 2023, Brouwerij De Prael Amsterdam Houthavens was taken over, making the dream of having its own brewery and tasting room come true. Part of the production continues to be brewed at Jopen Bier.

Dark brown with a medium tan head. Aroma of chocolate malt. Flavour is light spicy chocolate, dark bread and malt, fruity finish.

Pours hazy pale yellow with a white head. Aroma: lime, fresh citrusy hops and cardamom. Taste: spiced malts, cardamom and lemon zest. Citrusy palate.

Fles 33cl thuis. Liquorice, bitters, koffietonen, citrustonen, wat roasted malts, mandarijn, wat chocolade. (1-8-2025).

330ml bottle. Cloudy, dark amber colour with small, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Sweet-ish malty and phenolic, minimally fruity aroma, a touch of rotting yellow stone fruit, some alcohol. Taste is bitter hoppy, slightly grainy, pale malty with very low residual sweetness, slightly alcoholic, minimally phenolic, a touch of muesli; slightly warming, alcoholic finish.
Dissolved sugar enriched, watery texture, indifferent palate, medium to fine, mildly prickly carbonation..
Disharmonious, unbalanced, alcoholic, fermented muesli - hardly palatable.

(Draft at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 19 Feb 2025) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, milky coffee and dark bread. Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate, coffee, dark bread and a balanced roasty bitterness. Almost full body, with a touch of sweetness. Straight-forward and well balanced stout. Nice one.

Citric grassy fresh aroma
Medium body, crunchy sparkly,
Nice grassy, light piney, citruspeel, great palate.

Fles 33cl. Caramel, kruidig, kardemom, nutty, redelijk droog, wat chocolade, orange peel, wat zoethout. (14-3-2025).
Sample from bottle during a 'bierproeverij' at Remko's place. Didn't take any notes, just enjoyed good beers and good company. Ok Tripel, not as sweet as a lot of other Tripels are, fortunately.

Bottle shared at work. Huh, the spicing is quite daring, it’s not great yet it works in a weird, twisted way. Wouldnt drink it again probably, but didnt hate it completely either.
Toffee, Engelse drop, kruidig, ontbijtkoek. Aparte smaak. Geen schuim, wel lekkere koolzuur. Hoge alcohol proef je.
