Description
Jaanihanso is a family owned cider house and orchard on a historic farm dating back to the 18th century. Our family bought Jaanihanso in 2000. Our knowledge of the farm’s history originates from the papers that we found from the house, and from older villagers stopping at our gate to reminisce about the “old days”.
The renovation story of the estate has been in sync with our own growing pains. Some years with larger construction works, some years not that much, but there has been constant mutual bettering. In 2013, when the last bits of the house had been refurbished, the car had to move out from its brand-new pigsty-turned-garage to make room for cider. Famously, a garage is the best place to start a venture.

Sample thanks to minutemat, cheers Mat! Pale golden colour, white foam head that quickly dissipates away and aroma of fruity apple, funk hint. Taste is tangy, slightly tart, fruity, apple, funk, vanilla note, barrel hint, with some acidity and alittle tannin. Medium bodied, light carbonation, dry finish. Nicely drinkable.

375ml bottle from Etre Gourmet. Pours a milky golden yellow. Aroma of medium sweet desert apple. Taste sees an apple pie filling / desert apple sweetness, some vanilla, very mild cognac barrel on the finish. Would've welcomed more of a woody barrel / wild / cognac influence but overall it's a nice sipper.

Sample (thanks fonefan!). Golden colour no head. Aroma is apple sweetness, cinnamon and some apple jam. Flavour is super sweet apples, big time acidity, yet so damn drinkable. Super dry.

Tap at Vaat brewery. Medium-thin. Med-low carbonation. Almost medium sweetness, does not feel very dry to me. Light sourness and bitterness, low tartness. Apple character rather simple. Average-good, easy drinking, but boring, simple.
