Jaanihanso
Cidery
in Kaelase,
Pärnu County,
Estonia 🇪🇪
Associated Venue: Jaanihanso Ciderhouse
Established in 2013
The renovation story of the estate has been in sync with our own growing pains. Some years with larger construction works, some years not that much, but there has been constant mutual bettering. In 2013, when the last bits of the house had been refurbished, the car had to move out from its brand-new pigsty-turned-garage to make room for cider. Famously, a garage is the best place to start a venture.

375ml bottle (2016). Pours a hazed, almost murky brownish pink, good spritz. Nicely sweet, but definitely showing its age after 8 years, caramelised fruit, distant leather, rose petals, red berries.. not bad for such an old cider.

Sweetish, slightly heavy with some berries and apples, dry and slightly boozy.

Bottle. Golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is green apple skins, some mild juicy apples. Flavour is pretty much sweet and somewhat dry/tart apples with some mild wooden and almost vinegary tones too. Quite dry as for the palate.

--Sample, thanks oh6gdx! -- Hazy golden, small head. Mildly grasssy nose with concentrated tart apples. Dry with medium body and crisp firm mouthfeel. Funky unripe apples. Apples tones and grass. Lingering apple skin bitterness. Elegant and pleasant.

12oz single from Appalachian. Four packs sat around forever so they parced them out. $7.42. Pint glass at home. Jellied more than hazied, medium gold, weak head. Floral, juicy, melon candy, sweet tobacco, caramelized, custard. Still some decent perceived acid. Lime. Cooked sweetness. Acidy apple, bit of core, leafy, caramel, catty hops, nettle tea. Appreciate the acid.
