Description
Oxbow is a small farmhouse brewery located in rural Newcastle, Maine. The brewery is nestled in an enchanted forest amongst rolling farmlands and winding tidal rivers, of which the ebb and flow provide a constant reminder that the coast is near.
The name Oxbow is inspired by the bends in these rivers, the Dyer in particular, which features stunning horseshoe-shaped oxbows where the river covers tremendous ground to travel what could otherwise be a very short linear distance. We employ a similar approach when crafting our beers, taking months or years to create a beverage that is commonly produced in a matter of days.

Pours hazy gold into a tulip. Bright white head with excellent retention recedes to coat surface. Lemon, honey and funky brett aromas. Soft with sweet chamomile, earthy funk and lemon front to back. Lasting citrus and pine finish.

Tastes like the smarties Halloween candy. Those pill looking things. Like the tang you get at the back of your throat if you eat too many of them. Golden pour without much head. Bottle.

Can. Poured a nice bright clear yellow color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was straw, grain, some light salt. Flavor was very mild, was very drinkable. At the December DC Ratebeer tasting.

Tip tap draught, 12/16/23. Lightly cloudy, strawberry blonde. Firm, off-white head. Strawberries, touch of lactic acid. Light mineral and soft malts. Clean, mellow. Strawberry, spice, herb, pinch of lactic. Sort of popcorny malt. Juicy finish with vanilla and such. Don't love the popcorn. The strawberry's nice but this is pretty forgettable and the culture seems to have mostly lactic acid and not much else.
