Description
Latin American, Made in Xicago
The vast and delicious cuisines of Central and South America hold a treasure trove of flavors, aromas and textures, much of which feels right at home in a well-made beer. We combine these ingredients and ideas with our own experiences to make subtle and deeply delicious beers, not mere novelty items. Each beer speaks with our voice and adds to the story. We put the best ingredients together so that the whole beer adds up to much more than the sum of its parts.

Hazy amber brown beer, small tan head. Smooth palate, slightly viscous, mild carbonation. Smooth malts, plenty of ripe caramel toffee and very ripe fruits. A little mellow Christmas spice. This shit normally ruins a beer but it's lightly sprinkled here. Ripe prune and very ripe citric peel. Smooth finish. It's very very ripe. Too much so for me. There is a line about how much ripe anything I want in any beer and this beer crosses that line and then goes for a jog beyond it. There is no contrasting factor here, ripe ripe ripe! All that said, if you had told me this was from 1969, I would have been impressed how well it had held up.

16 ounce can. Hazy orange gold pour. Large frothy beige head settles to a small creamy cap with draped lacing. Funky, yeasty nose hints at pineapple and bubblegum. Slightly tart sour malt flavor is chock full of juicy pineapple flavor. Some underlying earthy funk. The 7% ABV is well hidden. An excellent fruited sour. Bien Hecho!

Bottle dated 2018. Yes, I've let this get a little old. Light hop smell with a note of malt oxidation. Slightly hazy straw color, with a thin head that's sticking around for a while. So yes, there's a touch of phenol in the malt, but that fades out once the beer's been poured. Not a hop bomb, but rather a mix of fruity hops with bitterness just at the edge.

Rated last year sometime, pours hazy pinkish and has a mild tropical fruit aroma. It's light and sweet with a little mild hops and somewhat indistinct fruit that's got to be the guava. Watery. It's okay I guess.
