Clear golden colour, no real head. Aroma of barn, brett, wild funk, rain water and apple. Quite unbalanced in the funk. Flavour apple, brett, barnyard, leather, gueuze-like notes. Medium to soft carbonation, finish leather, apple, horse saddle and funky notes. Lingering green potato. Nice and wild cider, somewhat unbalanced but very enjoyable.

75cl bottle from the Ross on Wye cider farm. A great Dabinett, pours a nice clear gold, smooth on the palette, fruity, luscious, moderate tannins, not overpowering in terms of apples but still a lovely light sweet, tart flavour that encapsulates this cider apple pretty well.

Had a tasting of this fine perry from the affable Mike Johnson at the Ross on Wye cider farm and found it so intriguing and unique I had to buy a bottle. First thing i noticed was a thick skin floating in the bottom of the bottle - not entirely sure what it was, and never seen anything like it before but I’ll trust it’s part of this perry’s character. It pours a nice golden colour and thankfully the powerful sulphur aroma quickly dissipates to reveal a nice sweet oak smell. Got a lot of honey to this and a sweetness that quickly turns dry in the mouth. Definitely one to sip and savour.

Bottle from Whole Foods in Folsom, CA. Pours brassy gold with some bubbles. Aroma suggests astringency. Med minus body. It is astringent. The flavor is sort of earthy apples. It reminds me of "farmhouse" ciders I’ve had in Normandy. Would probably be amazing if bottle conditioned and oak aged.

Bottle as shown. Pours a clear yellow with small white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is honey and fruit. Medium mouthfeel with sweet honey and cheese flavor. Not much going on with this one.

Bottle from the Folsom Whole Foods. Pours slightly hazy gold with a transient white head. Don’t know why this is considered "still". Nice appleskin aroma. It’s a bit thin, but very dry. Flavor is primarily appleskin. Astringent somewhat. Finishes dry.

Bottle. Pours still with a clear golden hue. Moderate to low legs. Aromas show some nice acidity, low funky phenolics, light chlorophenolics, fruity, lemon zest, baked bread, bright apple, low rum and medium oak. Flavors are medium sweet, somewhat higher tannin levels, good acid balance, light wood, rum, some spicy phenols. Quite bright for a medium sweet and still cider. Medium to low body, still, zesty balanced acidity and tannin. Pretty solid!
